Michelle, please feel free to call me. I had a right lower lobectomy. It was by the robotic Da Vinci. I have been blessed all the way around. A year later & now my 2nd clean scan. But my phone number is 817-874-9033. I would love to talk with you. We are all different. I'm Barb in Arlington, Tx.

I knew I was high risk. Insurance pays 100% of a low dose CT SCAN to find any lung cancer. We all must be proactive. I mean that! I made an appt with my Primary care doc. As soon as she walked in the room, I told her to write the order. I had a "feeling." A month later they were cutting out, via the Da Vinci, my stage 1a right lower lobe cancer. I don't believe, nor did my surgeon, in a wedge resection. Get it out of me!!! Now been over a year with clean scans. I'm told I'm cured. My node was 1.5 cm. They took the right lower lobe.

I'm so happy for you Sherie. Good to hear from you. Last Wednesday was my one year cancer surgery anniversary. Also got my CT scan. Haven't gotten the results. Hopefully today & hopefully still clear. Wow! You didn't lose your hair? That's awesome. Please stay in touch. There is a Walk on Nov. 12th I think that's here in Arlington for lung cancer fund raiser. I'm going. Hope you can too! Barb

Chime, stage 2? Wow! I was stage 1a. I think the prognosis is based on that hospital's standard of care. Find someplace else cause this doesn't sound right. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I can't imagine someone not doing this. Unfortunately, this is my 6 months CT and etc. check up. I wish Katie, I could go. Some very special people ready to be part of this Hope Summit. I just have Tom Galli's scanxiety. Can't pronounce it, but know it. My post surgical cough has gotten so bad I need a broncho dialator. My surgeon's staff ignored my issue. If I find out it wasn't surgical ready but a pulminologist should have seen me.... I'll start a new movement. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi. My first 6 month check has been scheduled. I was told it would be a CT without contrast. Is this typical? The first one I had that caught the cancer was with contrast. Just want to make sure this is right. Thanks. Barb

Paparon, what great news you are at just Stage 2. I was blessed also. I had a right lower lobectomy and the pathology report came back Stage 1a. But only one lymph node to be removed? I think maybe you heard wrong. My thoracic surgeon wanted to make sure it hadn't spread, so he removed 37 lymph nodes. All came back great. You will do great I am sure. What kind is it? Non small cell? Squamous or adenocarcinoma? Whatever it is, this is a great bunch of warriors here ready to help & fight with you. Good luck with whatever kind of surgery there is. Everyone is different. It was about 6 weeks for me to really feel total pain free. Most of the pain when I tried to sleep on the side where the surgery was. I saw your husband got cellulitis. Is anyone treating him for that? Hopefully he is on antibiotics. What other complications does he have? How long since his surgery? Barb
-
Hi Ari. Can you give us more details? Are the complications from the surgery or from follow-on treatment? What stage is he? I'm glad you're here. Lots of good folks here who like to help where possible. Barb

Thanks Katie B, CindyA, Nicole for a great Summit. It was my first and I met a lot of great folks! Tom Galli, it was also a pleasure to meet you and hear your survivor story. To anyone who gets a chance for either the regional or national Summit, go! It was a full day with excellent speakers. Food was really good too! Barb Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Meloni, I hope it goes well today. Let us know how you're doing & maybe tape the conversation with your phone. A lot of info at once-something can get missed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Please do get some rest. I remember most of my pain was where the chest tubes were. Ugh! I totally understand. I don't think I would have been able to do a whole day just 2 weeks after surgery either. You take care of Rhonda! Barb Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
