  1. Hi, after the second biopsy it has come back NSCLC of the Adenocarcimona type. I have had 5 radiation treatments on my rib and 5 on my sacrum (2 met sites). It has now been sent off for EGFR & ALK testing somatic mutation testing. To decide which chemo or trials available to me. Dont know if it was the radiation or just stress with the cancer on the body. My (graves disease)thyroid function test has come back at 17.2 my last one wasnt even 1. I have been extremely tired and my body constantly overheats ( simular to menopausal hot flush). Didnt know if it was the radiation the cancer in the body so asked GP for bloodtests, although heat overload was happening before radiation. One step and 1 breath at a time 🙁
  2. Thanks Tomm and Tom for your replies much appreciated. Tomm like US the oil is much talked about and used here in Australia but also illegal. When i first got diognosised i thought about taking it along with modern medicine. Just have tolook into the purchase of it here, ido know some people that have taken it. 3. Today i seen the radiologist oncologist after having the PET scan. it is stage 1V but until the biopsy still don't know what type every thing seems to be progressing slowly and i am getting anxious. Oncologist is stating that it is terminal it is just about quality of life doing treatments and wait to see if it returns somewhere else. He said the good outcome would be if it didn't return but if it did then the later time between it returning the better. I am going to do all i can to stay healthy eating healthy and continue doing the things i have always done and being as positive as possible. Once i have the biopsy i see the chemo oncologist however radiation oncologist is ordering 5 treatments of radiation treatments 1 a day for 5 days. Still not sure if i am posting this in the correct place.
  4. Thank you Bridget, i have my partner or my daughter that will be coming with me to treatments, which i am grateful for, yes Tom has replied to my intro. How did you feel after 5 days of radiation? After chemo can you just go about your day or are you needing to rest for the day? Sometimes i read info about lung cancer and get an overload and just have to shut down the computer, and yes once i know my exact cancers name i can then just reach that.
  5. Good Morning, I have been diagnosed with a 3cm mass in the left lung via an xray because of extreme pain in my rib area 5th July 17. Then i had a cat scan which confirmed cancer with mets. When i went to the lung specialist he said that it has spread into my ribs hence the pain. Yesterday i had a PET scan and now waiting for phone call to have a biopsy, apparently it is in a part of the lung that they cant operate on it so chemo and radiation is expected. This has come out of left field and of course as everyone would be devastated and still a bit in shock. I have a supported family and life partner which i am very grateful for. i am being positive and just taking 1 day at a time because that is all i can do as i don't know whats happening next, or even when the treatment starts how long it goes for like is it everyday for a few weeks or once a week or how long 1 treatment is 1 hr 2 hours 20 mins???? Everything at the moment is so unsure and a bit confusing. The other morning i had a huge melt down and sobbed for an hour or so, i find it easier to do this when i am home alone. I am doing things to distract my thoughts. It was hard telling my 2 adult children as like me they where shocked and devastated we have no family history of cancer. I am glad to be part of this support network however as i read until i know more i get confused with all the terminology as i don't know as yet what my cancer is or at what stage. Thanks
