We need your help to continue the fight against lung cancer. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and women in the United States. Each year more than 200,000 people who have never smoked are diagnosed with lung cancer, many at a young age. Numerous lung cancer survivors have a family history of lung cancer or are affected at young age with no history of smoking, suggesting that genetics play an important role in lung cancer risk. Our team of highly reputable researchers in the Department of Genetics and Genomics at Mount Sinai is looking for people to participate in a study to help us better understand what hereditary risks may contribute to lung cancer, a crucial step towards improving screening, early detection, prevention measures and even targeted treatments.
