Just wanted to write and let you know that I can relate on the big family thing and yet my husband and I always do things for my Dad virtually on our own. I would not have any less part in my Dad's treatment anyway, and I know you would not have it any other way with your Dad either. We both seem to be the strong ones in our families. Just know that, as he was in life, your Dad is soo proud of how your are still "handling" things for him in your special way. Hang in there Katie, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. Just wanted to let you know your posting really hit home with me. I am the mother of two daughters myself and can not imagine what you must be going through. Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
  3. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and good, positive thoughts are going out to you and Tim. We are all behind you!

  5. Tracy: So glad your Dad is done with his radiation! Hope all continues to go well for you and your family. I am up right now(4:30 am) thinking about my own Daddy who is battling this monster, just like yours and know how you feel. Remember, we are not alone and hang in therer@
  6. Heather: Saw your post and reminded me of me alot. I am in same position with my dad(51years old). He has completed 5 0f 6 scheduled chemos, but has tolerated them wonderfully(so far). He says he is feeling stronger everyday! I too am very active in his care/treatment and know the mental toll it can take(on anti-depressants myself). Please feel free to post to me or PM me anytime. We are all in this together. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Take care.
  7. Kathy: Thanks for sharing the excellent news!! It is great to know that all our thoughts and prayers do not always fall on deaf ears. Thinking of you and hoping for a GREAT vacation.
  8. Dave: Just wanted to let you know I have been following your story and know you will get through this with flying colors. You are truly a remarkable human being and a fighter. Hang in there. Thinking and praying for a speedy recovery
  9. Carleen: Just wanted to let you know that I am soooooooo happy for you and Keith. You have to celebrate in some big way. Oh, and I love the fact that you plan to continue to kick some cancer a$$ I really got a kick(pun intended) out of that one. Congrats again!!
  10. Connie: Just wanted to let you know that you can beat this. We are all behind you, so this thing does not have a chance. Hang in there and feel better soon!

The doc said my Dad is doing great and that the chemo seems to be doing the trick. The liver mets have gotten smaller and the lung mass is now virtually an empty cavity where the mass used to be, but not completely gone. Hey, I will take that! Dad will receive his next two sessions as scheduled and then will be re-scanned after 6th one. I asked doc what was plan after that and she said she will see him every month and re-scan every two months. I don't know if this is aggresive enough, what do you guys think. Remember Dad has small cell(extensive) and this can greow VERY rapidly. Onc seemed very positive today and commented that my Dad looked good, he loved that being the lady's man that he thinks he is LOL. I was wondering if I should ask doc about possible radiation ect... or maintenance chemo after short break from this initial one. Just wanted to share this good news and hopefully get some answers at the same time. You guys are the BEST Kelleyu Dad dx. extensive small cell(May1, 2003) mets to liver _________________ kelleyu Back to top

  13. Pama: Just wanted to say that you should be commended along with your sister for all that the two of you have been through with cancer in general. This board is FANTASTIC and you will find what you need here for you and your sister. Take it one day at a time, and remember, post, post, post. Love, Kelleyu
  14. Have not been on for a while, but thought I would report some really encouraging news. My Dad is feeling sooooooo much better. He has finished 3 0f 6 scheduled chemo rounds and is fishing off the Jersey Coast as I type. He is not even napping during the day as he feels so much better. I am convinced that the chemo is working and will meet with the doctor on Monday along with my Dad for his 4th round of chemo to begin. Hoping for good scans soon, but thought I would share. He is looking better then he has in months and feels it too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Kelleyu PS. Taking him to the Philadelphia Phillies game tomorrow!
  15. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, YOU TWO ARE SOOOO LUCKY TO HAVE EACH OTHER, BUT I PROBABLY DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT!! KEEP LOVING EACH OTHER AND THE REST WILL ALL FALL INTO PLACE. CONGRATS AGAIN
