  1. Lisa, I am sorry to hear about the ordeals your husband is going through. Being new to this sight as well, i can honestly tell you the people here are absolutely incredible and supportive. This is a very scary period, for both you and your husband. I know when i was diagnosed it seemed to hit my family harder then it did me. Just keep your spirits high, and remember things can still work out good for you. I will keep my prayers strong for both you and your husband.
  2. Apparantly it's Hodgekins Disease, Lymphoma Cancer. The doctor told me flat out that it is very treatable, and potentially cureable. Compared to what it could have been, worst case scenario i suppose this really isnt all that bad. I dont know yet what stage, and they will need to run some more tests now to make sure it hasnt spread anywhere else. Thank you again for your continued support and prayer God Bless :)
  3. I just got back from the Hospital today. The procedure really took it's toll on me, and getting my lungs back up to full recovery took alot of work and breathing exercises. The tests have revelead nothing, unfortunately. They did a surgical biopsy near the growth and tried to carve away several samples to be sent off to Pathology. These results basically turned out not to be any part of the growth or cancer. It was all dead scar tissue or inflmation tissue i believe *i may not be repeating this correctly*. One of my Doctors also told me this may very well be a positive element. The fact they have dug so deep, and looked so hard and turned up nothing cancerous, may very well mean there isnt anything cancerous in there. Anyways, they did another Chest Biopsy which i wont know theresults of till next week sometime probably. If that fails, it will probably involve using a much larger surgery where they will remove large pieces of the growth untill they can identify it. This might also lead to them removing the entire growth and a portion fot he lung it's infected as well. This does sound positive. OVerall the support of my family, loved ones, friends, and the people on these boards has been ....incredible. I barely know any of you, yet knowing you are offering me support really helps to make this ordeal a bearable experience. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As soon as I learn more i promise i will let you know. God Bless You All :)
  4. Still no news . The Biopsy wasnt successfull, and frankly i'd never like to go through that again. On monday i am going to go through a small surgical procedure to remove a large piece of the growth. This should provide an accurate result without any further complications. Once again, i wanted to thank everyone for their immense support. Knowing that people who are virtually strangers to you that can offer such a level of caring and understanding is simply incredible. God Bless you all :)
  5. I just wanted to thank everyone for the immense support they have shown. I had my biopsy yesterday, but due to a filing error, they werent able to process it till today. So i have to wait another day for the result. Thank you all so much for your compassion and sympathy, it is truly heartwarming.
  6. Hello, i am new here. I just finished reading many of the stories below and they were incredibly hopefull and encouraging to read. Two weeks ago i went to see a doctor about a chronic cough that was bothering me *i am a non-smoker btw*. After a few x-rays, several blood tests and a CT scan i have learned i have a tumor growing in my left lung. This monday i will go in for a Biopsy, and the following day i have an appointment with my doctor. Supposedly all my questions will be answered then. I guess i have some questions for some of the veterans on this board here, since this is something i've never had to deal with before. It's something i never expected to deal with this early in my life. 1.) What sort of questions should i be asking? 2.)How serious could this potentially be? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
