1 Year!

One year ago today I was diagnosed with Stage IIIB NSCLC and what a year its been since then! I've learned so much about me, my friends, my family, cancer, chemo, radiation, blood counts, etc., etc. Much more than I ever would have wanted to know. Yet, I'm ashamed that I knew so little about what cancer patients and their families go through prior to my own diagnosis.

The good news is that the cancer is now inactive. While remnants of the tumor remain, the juice has been knocked out of it. I take my daily Tarceva fix and continue my life much as it was prior 8/15/05, but I'm forever changed both physically and mentally, hopefully for the better.

So, Cheers to my family, my friends (including all of you on this board), my doctors and health care professionals, my co-workers and everyone else who offered encouragement and support this past year. You did good.

Here's to many more good years to come. Drinks are on me today!

Trish
