CraiginPA Posted June 21, 2012 Share Posted June 21, 2012 The big question for drugs like this is whether they don't just help muscle cells survive but cancer cells, too. That was the problem with fish oil supplements -- seemed to stop muscle wasting in one study but according to a lab study of biochemical products in mice models the interaction with platinum-based chemo created chemicals that might enable the cancer to resist the chemo. I think the researchers should be aware of this and may be able to comment on what has been seen in prior studies and pre-clinical research on that question.
