    Really quiet board

There will be a game on Sunday. It will consist of 4 15-minute quarters. There will be commercials every 5 minutes. There will be a winner and looser.

  2. That kid. Yeah, yesterday the City declared it “Mahomes” Monday. I showed up for a Board Meeting on Zoom for KU Cancer Center with people wearing their Chiefs jerseys AND wearing Mahomes wigs. It was more like a Halloween party. The mood was quite festive as the employees have all been vaccinated meanwhile for those of us who were survivors on the Zoom practiced our evil stares. As for me, I’ll stick with my beloved Giants, playoffs or not.

    Phase I Clinical Trial

Hi Roz: I am very sorry the clinical trial didn't work out. I do s lot of reading/research on lung cancer because I am active in the stock market. I wrote few paragraphs in the section Cancer 101 about Kras. From what I read at least one company ( Mirati Therapeutics) will submit to the FDA for G12C approval in 2021 and their next step is to work on G12D. Due to their unique technology some experts think they are not far away from addressing G12D. You can check their web page https://www.mirati.com/pipeline/ that includes MRTX1133 KRAS G12D inhibitor in progress. You are in my prayers and I wish you luck.

So I will add some "General" information. I have been a life long Lions fan. No. I am not trolling for pity. Instead I am very happy with the Stafford trade. I love the guy and will now root for the Rams. But, this was the best trade I can remember the Lions ever doing. I think it is a win win. Prediction....Rams in Superbowl next year. Lions in the playoffs next year. Peace Tom

Since my husband played for both the Raiders and Bills, we are partial to those teams. The Raider organization is great to its alums. However, he also played preseason with the Chiefs. But he also likes Tom Brady. So go figure. Just hope it's a good game.

    Introducing myself

She is young which is a big plus. I'm probably being naive (or hope full) that new treatments are just around the corner. There has been some very promising progress and I actually think we are on the brink of major breakthroughs, actually there have already been many for some specific cancers. My Oncologist thinks in a decade cancers will not be categorized as Lung, Breast, Colon (etc) cancers, but instead be designated based on the mutations and targeted treatments will be the standard as opposed to the scorched earth approach that still prevails for most cancers. My point is, as others have mentioned, take the good days as a blessing, the tough days as a battle and keep the hope. I personally believe we are close to being able to treat cancer as a treatable disease. I hope to live to see that day and I hope your mom does as well. Peace Tom

    Hello from Florida!

KizzyMittens, Okay, you've been able to share more information and that will be helpful. I myself have not had chemo therapy as my treatment was surgical, but many others here have and possess a load of knowledge on the protocol. Please stay tuned for them. In the meantime, you may want to stay away from Dr. Google. First, there is too much information to consolidate and most of it may not relate to your particular situation. Secondly, the posted prognosis and survival stats are "out of date". They are normally five-year running averages that may not accurately reflect the survival rates based on today's much improved treatments. So, please stay away from there and get your information (especially survival prognosis) from your treatment team and what we can give you here. Lou

    Phase I Clinical Trial

So, on December 1, I started a Phase I clinical trial (RMC 4630 + Cobimetinib) in the hopes of stabilizing or slowing the growth of my Stage IV NSCLC KRAS G12D mutation. However, after 8 weeks, the CT showed accelerated growth of the cancer in both lungs so I'm now off the trial. There don't seem to be viable options for KRAS G12D.. The onc is suggesting Taxotere. Anyone know of anything that is working with KRAS G12D? Thanks, Ro
