    Recipe Book????

Yep...add me to the list. I need to order several!
  2. Well, I just had chills while reading your post, as something so very similar happened to me. The picture that I have posted on this message board came back in a roll of film that I had developed after Dennis' death. Everything on the roll was recent, except for this picture. Like you, I kept looking at the picture in an attempt to figure out where it was taken. I could tell that the picture had been taken after Dennis became ill, as he is much thinner in the picture. Finally...it hit me. This picture was taken in my sons' kitchen. This house was in Nashville and the last time we were there was in 2000, when my son graduated from Vanderbilt Law School. But...all the other pictures taken at that time, in that house, showed a much heavier Dennis. I still cannot understand how this happened. Like Tina, I have long stopped believing in coincidences and now believe only in Godincidences.
  3. So very glad to hear that the surgery went well!!!

    Need to Gripe!!!

Cindy, I'm right there with you in legalizing public floggings. I'm the mother of three grown sons and I can tell you that I would be right there flogging away with you if one of my boys was the one at fault! As parents, it's so hard to really ever let go, as our children are always our "babies" regardless of their age! Finally, after all of these years of raising children, I have learned to keep my opinions to myself a little more. It seems the more I say, the more they rebel. I'm thinking of you on this one, Cindy! Tough situation to handle. But...as for that 10 years...forget it! You're going to be around for lots of grandchildren!!!!

    Missing Dad

Jean, I am thinking of you today and sending some well needed hugs your way. (((((((((Jean)))))))))
  6. I am so sorry for all pain you are dealing with right now. Grocery shopping was (and sometimes still is)very hard for me. It seems as I would always load up on things for Dennis that were right ath the front of the store...yogurt, pudding, jello. All of that hits me right when I hit the first aisle. Driving in the car always seems to set me off, too. Often, it's a song on the radio that triggers the tears. I think the car holds a lot of memories for me because Dennis and I spent so much time traveling to Orlando for his treatments. We live about 2 hours from MD Anderson in Orlando and there were times we would make that trip 3 times in one week. I hope life soon becomes easier for you and that you are able to reclaim only the good and happy memories.
  7. Jana...first of all I would like say that I am so happy to read about your beautiful little daughter. I know how very proud you must be. At the same time, my heart is just breaking for you. I know how lost you must be without your mom right now. But, I'm sure your mom is watching out for you and that beautiful little daughter of yours. Please post a picture. We'd all love to see her. I'm so glad you have our dear, sweet Val to talk to. The two of you ahve gone through so much! ((((((((((((Jana))))))))
  8. Val, I knew you could do this! I'm so proud of you for speaking up and letting everyone know that you are also in pain. I'm also glad to hear of this new potential friendship. Like Ginny said, friendship comes in all shapes, sizes, sexes and ages! I have always very easily made friends with people that are older than I am. Sounds like this will all be evry good for you!

    Cindi Update

Kasey, thanks so much for bring us up to speed. I have been worried so much and so anxious to hear how Cindi is doing.
  10. Gail, I am so sorry this didn't work for your dad. I am so glad to hear that he is feeling better. I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.
  11. I have to jump right in here and lead this one off...lol! As some of you know, I'm a semi-professional crafter and do a lot of shows this time of the year. Right now, I am even ashamed for my own children to stop by my house and see the clutter and chaos. Both my kitchen table and dining room table are filled with strange things such as Penguin Stew, Snowman Farts, Snowman Soup, Spider Cider...just to mention a few!!! My last show is on November 19th so I will have the house back to perfection by then. In the meantime, unless you can efficiently operate a glue gun, stay away!!!
  12. If someone were to drop in your house for an unannounced visit today, would you be comfortable with the way your house looks or would you be really angry with yourself for not cleaning?
  13. Eppie, I'm not sure if both you and your dad read this board. If it's just you, please tell your dad that we all are sending him wishes for a Happy Birthday!
  14. Ginny-girl...you crack me up!!!
  15. It's pretty scary when we realize how many everyday things we don't really know about.

  17. Wow...so glad to hear about all your plans. I think the perfect lady to talk to would be our own KatieB. She is so great at this sort of thing. She has tons of wonderful ideas. Just PM her!!!
  18. Really Addie...like Larry said, thank God it was your head! I was wondering if we had really done something to annoy you? Sure toots....I'll proudly kiss your head anytime...one crafter to another!!! Speaking of which...I was up till 2:00 am making Snowman Farts and Penguin Poop!!! Can you handle the excitement?
  19. I would have to go along with Cindi and say a nice cold Mudslide!!!
  20. I know how very much you miss your mom. Filling out paperwork and actually seeing things in writing really seems to bring on the cold reality of what has happened. My time came when I was doing those first income taxes after Dennis died and having to select the box that said widow. I'm sending lots of hugs your way.
  21. Glad to hear this Shirley! I was getting angier bu the minute, just thinking about this one!
  22. You know, sometimes, when you least expect it, God will give you a shove in the right direction. I have a good friend that always says he just stands right on the edge of the ledge and waits for God to tell him to jump into action. I'm saying prayers that this will work out for you. It sounds like a great opportunity!
  23. Christy, I hope the new treatment plan works its magic! You hang in there and in touch to let us know how things are going. Saying prayers for you and your mom.

    More Incompetence

Kim, I guess to say that this is all unbeliveable would be a gross understatement. I really hope something is decided soon so you can get your mom out of htere. Hospitals are supposed to be a place where you can feel safe. If I were in your shoes, I would be afraid to leave the hospital. I really hope things get better and that your mom improves. I have the highest regards for people in the medical profession but what you are dealing with is out and out ricidulous!
  25. I'm saying prayers for you and your mom.
