  1. Wow...so many wonderful suggestions. I really think the thing that would mean the most to me would be a nice letter. Also, as a crafter, I know I sometimes am hesitant to spend money on the things I really like to do. So, if this wonderful lady has a hobby you might get her a gift card that would enable her to buy something she would really enjoy.
  2. Val, I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I know how hard it must be for you to be home and not have your mom there with you. Just try and remember how very much it means to your dad to have you and precious little Carolyn there for him right now. It's really good that you and your dad have each other to lean on right now. I'm praying for sunshine and blue skies to come your way.....and hoping a chicken runs across the road right in front of that truck!!!!
  3. A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...one old love she can imagine going back to.. and one who reminds her how far she has come... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own even if she never wants to or needs to... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .a youth she's content to leave behind... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling it in her old age... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...a set of screwdrivers, cordless drill, and a black lace bra... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family.. A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored.. A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...a feeling of control over her destiny... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW. ..how to fall in love without losing herself... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... .how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship... and how to change a tire... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... ...when to try harder... and when to walk away... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... ...that she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... ...that her childhood may not have been perfect...but its over... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... ...what she would and wouldn't do for love or more... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... .how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... ...whom she can trust, whom she can't, and why she shouldn't take it personally... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... .where to go... be it to her best friend's kitchen table.. or a charming inn in the woods... when her soul needs soothing... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... what she can and can't accomplish in a day.. a month...and a year...
  4. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee and lived there 25 years. I've lived in Miami, Hollywood and now Palm Bay, Florida.
  5. So glad to hear that things went well for your FIL. Will keep him on my prayer list!
  6. I would have to say cool...very cool. There is always a different feeling in the air when a storm is approaching.
  7. Storms.....are they cool or scary????
  8. My prayers for Kurt, those beautiful little ones and the rest of Beth's family. I, for one, will surely miss her posts. I know that she has joined the rest of the Angels that were a part of this board.

    Thank You Lord!!!!
  11. How many different cities or towns have you lived in?
  12. Nancy, I am so glad to hear that you had a great trip. I know how hard all the first things you do alone can be. For me, going to dinner alone was very hard. I commend you on having the courage to make this big step! I think Gilda's Club is a great organization and I'm sure you will gain much comfort from others with similar experiences. I'm so proud of you!!!
  13. Finish this statement..."IF I HAD THE TIME, I WOULD.........?

  15. Dean Carl...I pray the Rainbow Bridge is everything you anticipated! I will miss your wisdom, caring and your beautiful way with words. Gay, you have my hugs and sincere sympathy.
  16. Jamie, I am so sorry about your dad. Yes, I do remember you and have thought about you many times. I always loved the picture that you had posted! I know how hard this loss must be for you and I am saying a prayer for you and your family!
  17. Addie, have you thought of checking in the areas of stores where they have the travel size samples for the hand sanitizer? Sometimes, you can get really good deals on the trial size samples. Thanks for the sticker offer. I am all out of cans now but may order some more later in the week. Addie, I really think you should start something here and get anyone from our board that either knits or crochets to make some little afghans for the babies. You would be the perfect person to organize this effort. As you and I have discussed, I have no talents in this area but would be more than happy to send lots of yarn to someone that does.

  22. Karen, so sorry to hear that news wasn't what we were all praying for. Hopefully, you can get all of the paperwork you need and get someone to help you out with all these expenses. I am praying that this treatment will kick this monster in the butt!!! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
  23. Way to go Addie!!! To me, you have always held celebrity status and now your entire city will know how very special you are....even if they do associate you with T.P. Personally, I think the T.P. was a wonderful idea! Having lived through all those hurricanes last year, I should have thought of T.P. when making my donations. The hand sanitizer is a great idea. I think that's one of the best things since sliced bread. I have that sstuff all over my house and car. I made up 50 Kans for Kids this weekend. Oriental Trading Company sells these cans that look like paint cans. I had a bunch in my craft room from last Christmas and I made labels stating whether they were for a girl or boy and filled them with goodies. I found crayons, coloring books, pencils and things like that on clearance at Target. I got boxes of 24 crayons for 7 cents!!!
  24. Andrea you are the bestest!!!!Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job on this project. Lots of thanks also go out to all the people that proofed the recipes and got them ready for submittal! I wish I had been able to offer more help. Please, let me know the minute you can start taking orders! Like Ry said, this will make Santa's job a lot easier this year!
  25. You just opened up a brand new box of crayons. What's your favorite color in the entire box?
