  1. (((hugs)))) Dawn prayers for you and your family Denise
  2. Hi Everyone, This board is great, Thankyou all so much for your advice. My mom's computer is broken but I am going to have her read this board when she comes over. Because she gets mad at me when I question her Doctor, I have even called her Doctor and the Doctor at Dana Farber as well and she went crazy. But if she hears this from someone else it might go farther. Dana Farber did not seem to think she was a canidate for any other Meds either. I know she is feeling better when she is aggravating me about everything LOL, But that is fine with me. Thanx again Denise
  3. Just a correction my mom has stage 111a,
  4. Hi Everyone I mostly lurk on this board, partly because I could not remember my user or my password, I am computer iliterate. Anyway, Everyone on this board has helped my greatly over the past year. My mom is soon to be 57 and she was diagnosed last May with NSCLC stage IIIb inoperable with some limph node involvement. She had chemo and radiation and has been done since December. The latest scan showed everything stable. No other hot spots luckily. She is doing great she is back gardening and exercising lightly at respitory rehab where they can keep an eye on her. My question is she said the doctor did a blood test (could not remember the name) that would show any elevations I guess in her blood if anything was going on anywhere else? the normal range he said was between 0-30, Hers was a 17. Has anyone heard of this? Also, there is a women I am sorry I forget her name that her husband has the same diagnosis and he is on I think Iressa or another form of meds. My mom is not on anything and her Doctor said there is no trial drugs for stage III, and it is a malpractice suit waiting to happen if he gives her something. I am sure you can imaging how Frustrated I am. She has been to DanaFarber in Boston as well as her regular Oncologist. I do not have a lot of Faith in this Doctor because he is her primary Doctor as well and she told him for 1 1/2 years she did not feel right but could not pinpoint it. He basically told her her blood work was fine and that it was all in her head. He knew that she smoked heavy for 30 years and has not smoked in almost 5 years. He was very defensive when I asked why they do not do yearly chestX rays on People who heavily smoked. He said it is not a good indication. However if my mom did not ask for one after her phnemonia, When when he had done something. Anyway I am sure someone can answer these queations for me. I am sorry this is so long. I am 37 married with 3 young terrors I mean boys LOL, My mom is my very best friend she had me at 18 and it has only been her and I until she got remarried 13 years ago. She is very very close to my children. I can't even think about loosing her I start to loose my breath. I can't imagine my life without her. I love my husband but your mom is your mom and loves you no matter what. My name is Denise, I put my username as Dena just incase my mom goes on the board she wouldn't realize it was me right away. She hides some things from me because she knows how upset I get. The only time I saw her cry is when my son pulled her wig off, She was scared they would be afraid of her. And they were not but it crushed her. I just want to know that we are doing everything we can to give her the best chance . Thanx so much for listening Best to you All Denise
