Dick, the new norm is what it is. Keep yourself as busy as possible, stay away from negative people and doctors and surround yourself with positive energy. You will have good and bad days, the cancer roller coaster deal with them as they come. As far as lost friendships I am dealing with that, the phone rings less often which makes us feel alone. When I am feeling alone I come to this web site. As for the doctor's giving me a time line, I've never asked and they have never said, only the the Lord knows that and many here can tell you they were told a time line and have surpassed it by months and years. Welcome to your new family of friends.

Sounds like it has been caught early, I was told if surgery could be done that was a good thing. I lost my right upper lobe which is the largest of the three sections on the right side of your lung approx. 2/3 of the lung and did fine. Started walking and had no problems. The left side of the lung only has two lobes. I would speak to you onc. to see if they feel you will have any future problems. All I can tell you is that you have to push yourself to get those lungs to re-expand. Funny how the body works, it can be done I walked and walked alittle further each day and by my 6th month post surgery I had expanded my right lung to full capacity. Good luck.

Mike I am curious to see if there are any replies because I have been having the same problem for the last 2 weeks, I've blamed it on sleeping the wrong way. Hopefully someone will shed some light on the subject.

Joint pain can be caused by chemo, but check with the doctor to make sure that is what may be going on.

Ken,glad it is done and over and yes the hardest part is waiting and wondering. So glad you tolerated the procedure well. I've had 2 biopsies and that is normal to feel a dull ache for a few days off and on. My goodness just think of where they have been. Keep us updated, prayers for NED

Bucky if they only knew what we do now, instead of worrying about keeping up with the Jone's, we have learned to enjoy non material things. So who would you say is getting the raw end of the deal, if people like that think they are indestructible they are wrong a tree could fall on them tomorrow. My advise stay away from negative people like that who make you feel down and bad. Stay strong
Needs Phlebotomy due to high hemoglobin. Ever heard of this?
in GENERAL

Yes, my husband has high hemoglobin and was told by his family physician to give blood regularly to keep it down and that he would feel better, that was years ago, he gives blood on a regular basis and he does say it makes him feel better.
