    Hello from NZ

Hello everyone Have not posted for a while however have been visting lots. This is just an up date on my mum. She has had a brain tumour removed and has had radiation for one week only. Now has stared a phase 2 trial using Dmxa in conjunction with conventional chemo. She is doing well but is very weak. The single brain tumour was sucessfully removed now we are facing a tumour on the adrenal gland. It is a very hard and long road thank godness we had the chance to go to Ian galwers centre in Melbourne. I am not sure what is ahead we are trying to live one day at a time. It is very hard in New Zealand we have been waiting since October to start Chemo.....and we still do not have access to the latest drugs even if we try to receive them privately. Not sure what is ahead but would appreciate any advice advice on what is ahead. Also has any one had a tumour on adrenal gland as our doctor here does not say much. THanks - Jody - New Zealand Mum diagnosed Jan 04 Right Lung removed Jan 04 Oct 04 advised metastised Adrenal Gland 23 December seizure advised singe brain met Jan 05 Brain TZumour removed February Radiation on full head April 10 started first round of chemo trial drug Scans all clear in Head and Left lung Adreanal gland still shows tumour

  3. Hi My mother has adeno carninoma and takes supplements. We see a natural oncologist who also works in with main stream chemo. We are taking -Transfer factor which I am not sure you get over there but is very good. - Co enzyme 10 - which enhances metabolic function of cells - helps when you energy is low - digestive enzymes - as chemo strip these - - vitamin C Seems alot but all helps- hope this helps - you may have natural oncologists there also. Good luck with finding someone and the chemo best wishes Jody C Auckland New Zealand
  4. Dear Barbara I am so sorry for your loss it is so hard to get through these times we just have to live each day. I have just come back onto the forum after being away for a while at a treatment centre in Melbourne called Ian gawlers, with my MUM who has Adeno carcinoma. We were given a prayer which I hope helps you, it seems right to give it to you. The serenity Prayer God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change the courage to change things I can and must change and the wisdom to know the difference. Hope this helps, has helped me. Jody C from Auckland New Zealand
  5. HI Again wow what a response. Ian gawler centre is based in Australia we go on Saturday for 2 weeks he has people from all over the world coming. They had a cancellation and we got in. My chartered natural medicine doctor for mum is David Holden he is based in Auckland and has a web site www.osiris.org.nz he works in with oncologists ( the ones that are open to it ) to support the immune system. He was recommended by my half sister whom had breast cancer and is clear now. He also works in with an oncologist who is now in China - Dr Spall he works with stem cells and other medicines as well as chemo. He is Australian based in Shanghai and has many clients visit him we are going to make this decision when we get back from Melbourne. I will keep everyone informed on regarding Ian Gawler. The Vitamin C has done wonders for mum she has this intravenously 2 - 3 times per week which is about 75 000 mg per week. THis is a huge amount which is saturating her blood cells. Everyone is different David looks at the blood on the computer and analyses from there. If anyone can get transfer factor in the States or Australia that also boosts the immune system you can find it on the web site. Doctors here are also recommending it here in conjuntion with chemo to help immune system. Back soon - Jody

  7. Hi My mum had her right Lung out in January this year, and was given the all clear from the operation. At her six month check four weeks ago by CT scan ( in New Zealand we do not have PET scans ) it was found to have gone to her adrenal glands. Adeno Carcinoma well differentiated. While waiting for the oncologist we have had 3 intravenous vit c per week plus other intensive supps. Today we finally got the appointment with oncologist he advised mum to have chemo in January as there is a waiting list taxol/ciplatim he also has suggested a trial which is at the next stage Dmxaa. In the meantime we are off to Ian Gawlers centre in Melbourne and are awating a reply from Doctor Spall in CHina who specialises in Lung Cancer. Lots of decisions to make. This a great site to see the wonderful stories of getting through this. Thanks - JC
