Yes, I saw it too, Donna. Sounds very promising. The only thing about the piece for me was the mention of smokers and former smokers. Although this particular study/gene is only for those particular persons ~ just the mention of smoking will leave legions of people still believing they will never be at risk. But I will take each tiny step forward. How are you guys doing these days? Kasey

Wow Laurie, it is hard to believe it's been that long. I'm sure for you it seems longer sometimes and at other times like yesterday. It is good to hear you are doing pretty good. Keeping busy is important and I'm glad you have kids and grandkids as well. I miss seeing you here. I miss many of our old friends who for one reason or another don't come here anymore. But knowing you are 'out there' reading is comforting. Thanks for checking in and thanks for all you've done to supprt those of us still here. I will remember you and Bill for my entire lifetime. Ah, (((Anne))), what a heavy heart here. I find it so hard to hear when any of our friends here have run out of options. From Day 1 you have had a very special place in my heart and right now it just hurts. My hope is that you get that pain under control with the help of Hospice and can share many more memories with those precious children you love so much. Remember that many have enlisted the help of Hospice and have done well. I often wonder about my friends here who haven't been around lately - so I'm glad you ckecked in. I'm not sure my prayers actually make it anywhere CLOSE to where I intend them to get, but I'm sending them up anyhow. Hope you know that I just care about you lots, Anne. Just do what you gotta do to be where ya gotta be right now. I'll be praying and hoping for the best. Kasey

I just don't have the wrods to be of any comfort to you, Barbara. Instead I can just send such heartfelt love, hugs, thoughts, and prayers. The previous posters have said much of what I would. You and I have discussed our love affairs and I am heartbroken for you. I've always been with you in spirit - though not in the flesh. I wish I could have. Remember - 2 hours and 51 minutes, I think. Yours is an everlasting love story which will endure for ages and be remembered by many - by you, all your family, and those of us here who will never forget Barbara and Bill. Your journey has changed my life for sure. I'll wiat for it to be the right time for you to lift the phone. Welcome Claudia. I was diagnosed with lung cancer too - and if you read my profile (below my name here) you will see that was 5-1/2 years ago!! I was given a poor prognosis and that was proven to be so very wrong. This is not a trip any of us signed up for, but the fine folks here are all supportive and knowledgeable as well. Well, my friend, is there anything else you can pull out of your hat to have happen!?!? This is just unbelievable. I have no idea what a heart block is or why/what makes it happen? Scary, indeed, what could have been had you not been in the hospital. The LC journey (and all else it brings along with it) is always described as a roller coaster ride. I am SO glad that at the beginnign of it all you strapped yourself in tight!!!! I know 'we' like to think of you as a tough old broad, but you certainly bring new meaning to that term. I'm thrilled you are home and recuperating. Now.........what does this new wrinkle mean in the big scheme of things? New meds? Additional checkups?
