I've just gotten a chance to read all of your condolences and want to thank you. Mike fought the beast harder than anyone I've ever seen and was strong to the very end. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family. It still does not seem real to me. I love him so very much and will miss him more than words can express. To all of you, I am praying for you, and never, never, never give up. Don and Lucie, I love you two so much and appreciate all of your support. Grace, Mike's wife
  3. 4. Has anyone had any experience with a device called a vibe machine?IT was invented by a man named Gene Koontz in Colo. His machine was invented about 28 months ago and created all kinds of positive testimonials regarding it's results on all types of health issues including some pretty incredible stories about lung cancer.I just finished listening to a internet radio program called achieveradio.com and was blown away by some of the testimoinials.I believe the mans web site is www.vibemachine.com.It sounds like he has further developed the technologies of electromagnetic approach to healing such as the rife machine.Mike Evans

  6. As I understand it,in order to qualify for a cobra extention beyond the 18 month period, you must have been certified as disabled within 60 days of your termination date from your employer by social security. If so you can get an additional 11 months of cobra.Your insuance carrier however can charge you up yp 150% of your existing cobra premium. So if you are paying $300 per month now ,you will have to pay up to $450 per month to continue cobra. That,s how I,m reading it and my insuance carrier agreed. Bad day

My 1st line chemo finished Feb 3rd.Got the results of my pet scan from last week today and showed the cancer is back in the liver and the left lung(new spot).Am having a rum and coke and a brief pity party. Will be ready to fight again tommorrow.Bummer,I was enjoying life without chemo and was finally up to speed walking 5 miles a day.My 2nd line chemo will be camptostar. How has everyone done on this chemo?
  11. Addie-I had a liver biopsy in Oct. of 2004.I don't recall it being terrible painful. At the time my liver was covered with sclc so I was pretty sick.Good Luck
  12. Hello, my name is Mike Evans. I am new to this site. To let you know what is going on with me, I was diagnosed with SCLC October, 2004, Stage 4, with mets to the liver. I have completed my second round of chemo and just completed my second PET scan. I will have my third round of chemo this coming Weds, Thurs & Fri. using Carboplatin and VP16 Etoposide. Was very sick initially, then started first chemo. Liver was completely covered, but only 2cm in lung with spots on other lung. Liver quickly recovered after first chemo. Last month have felt great and currently up to walking four miles per day. Have a sore throat yesterday that seems worse today. Other than that, have felt healthy as a horse. Am heavily involved in new healthier lifestyle (i.e., juicing and good nutrition, no smoking/drinking). Was a smoker for 35 years. Any survivors??!!!! Stage 4???!!!! Would love to talk to you. Am to go through maybe 5 more chemo treatments. Anyone know of any clinical trials for extensive SCLC?? Hope to hear from you! Mike
