Received my latest scan results a few days before Christmas. I'm still NED - been that way for 4 years. Super Doc says if my next scan (June) is clean, I'll get moved to an annual scqn. If you had told me in August 2016 that - first - I'd still be here and - second - that I'd be NED, I wouldn't have believed you.
If you are newly diagnosed, please know that this disease can be survived. I'm proof.

I know what you mean, Susan. I wouldn't have thought I'd live for long or get to NED either, but here we are. Congratulations! A great start to the New Year.

My Dec CT scan results are out, NED! Now the wait for the next scan starts but at least my family can have some joy starting the new year. Happy New Year everyone!

Just an update that my last scans came back as still stable. I wasn’t too anxious, but having had a cold an cough for a while now it was still a relief. So bring it on 2023! Happy holidays and the best wishes for the new year!

They have informed us that after discussion, the neck bone fracture doesn't necessitate surgery at this time (after telling him to not eat and be ready for several days). That's good news. They're going to radiate his leg at the end of this week, then his neck later. So it will be a bit over two weeks before any type of treatment happens. The leg bone biopsy is pending. No discussion of lung biopsy scheduling at all. I'm going to contact the hospital and ask about it if nothing happens soon. He's really reluctant for me to speak to anyone there, says that the nurses don't know anything, the residents just take their orders from the higher ups so they don't know either, and nothing is certain yet since the leg biopsy result hasn't come out. He says they probably just want to deal with his bone issues first so he can leave the hospital and come to treatments without taking up a bed.
I've had two clear-minded days now. I'm so thankful there are people to talk to about this. The professionals seem to be moving like molasses, while I'm the only one in emergency mode.

Hi All You Bad *ss Cancer Warriors,
I am sharing some great news for stage IV and all others struggling with this awful journey. After 4 years of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation and finally a lobectomy I am now done with my cancer treatment. I’ve had 2 years of clean scans and had my last immunotherapy treatment last week. Today my oncologist set me free sort of. I’m one of his few lucky stage IV lung cancer patients who is NED after 4 years of treatment. I will be scanned “ad nausea” (his words) going between PET & CT scans. I’m VERY nervous being off treatment but hey, I’m alive, NED and going to Las Vegas to celebrate. NEVER GIVE UP! If it can happen to me it can happen to you. Wishing everyone great scans and happy holidays.
