  3. I had surgery in January and that wouldve been it but they found a few lymph nodes with cancer so thats why the chemo so i guess they dont know if the cancer has gone to distant places via the lymphatic system or just making sure with the chemo. I was first set to have a different combination of drugs but was told because of my long history of diabetes one of the drugs is known to cause neuropathy so they changed it to gem / carbo combination and that will be 2 extra rounds to the original plan and i dont know what the original was going to be though

  5. I was googling survival rates and read that breast cancer has a 99% five year survival rate and lung cancer has a 15-30% ...that was a downer and my mum beat leukemia when 68 yrs old when told she had a 15% chance of staying in remission but 3 yrs passed with no recurrence so cured the oncologist said but at age 72 she got nsclc adenocarcinoma which was a primary tumor and had her lung removed and 3 yrs later mets to other lung and no treatment and lived another 4 yrs and passed away almost 80 yrs old .diabetes and heart disease and age and having gone through chemo for the leukemia they thought more treatment wasnt wise because of her general health But she stayed positive through it all which is what im trying to do and this forum has helped me see there is hope to survive past the 5 yr mark but was wondering what your thoughts are on these statistics ...Tom Susan ...Lauren .?..and others that are going through this journey

  9. I wouldnt mind betting that carbs can cause cancer and thats why they say diabetics are at higher risk of cancer and my mother and brother and now me all diabetic and lung cancer so i try to limit carbs not only to control my diabetes but to hopefully slow down the lung cancer ......just thinking about a pet scan where they inject a solution containing glucose and any metabolically active cells will light up while the glucose. Is present
