  1. Barb one more mission completed. I wondered if your blood work is all good? TSH good? . A really good book from the 70s is Be Here Now by Baba Ram Dass. I know we have 17 more to go in the future but we are here today enjoying the fruits of the season DKF ..it's good to hear someone on #16 can have all blood work in the normal range. Please keep posting if anything changes and let us know how your next scan goes Unknown other Durvas ... Please share how your doing, it helps all of us in this small group
  2. Charles, I was started on 75 mcg when they saw my TSH 139 ... I checked Dr. Google to see how long it takes to start working and it said some people start to feel the effects in a week or two ... or a month or more. I choose the week option. I was very low energy for a week and then... better every day now. Hope your new higher dose gives you a speedy recovery
  3. Infusion #9 done yesterday with new energy update on blood work from #8 TSH was 139 and now 113 the others numbers got better too but this is the one that messed with me a lot. I started taking vothyroxine , (synthroid) and within a week I felt much better and ready to go to the Farmers Market tomorrow. Everyone NEEDS to have your thyroid checked!! Fatigue very light and no side effects that I know of.. enjoy your summer
  4. Robert I listened to your tune ..nice here is part of my playlist for my infusion, I put on my earphones and relax 1) One of These Things First by Nick Drake 2) Goa Sunset by Karunesh , 3) Homemade Ice Cream by Tony Joe White 4) Wake Me by Mandolin Orange 5) The Sun in September by Matthew Halsalle Anyone else want to share their playlist for the Chair? enjoy
  5. Hi BC Joe, happy to hear from a fellow traveler. I had radiation front to back and was red during treatment in the back and for 3-4 weeks after treatment was over. I was told it's normal.
  6. Robert.. enjoy the rest of your journey
  7. Bob I just ordered the book you suggested today .. got a used copy for $3.99. 24,000+ views and counting down to your last infusion ..you have been the scout in this new journey for many of us... Thanks!! Barb .. How was infusion #8 on thursday? any new side effects? hope things went well for you
  8. DK DFK ...I'd to know what the coverage is called and who you got it from, I want that. thanks
  9. Ron H .. they always check my finger o2 and it's in the blood test I get that day, lab is on site with the ONC and chair.

  11. Kelo .. Yes are more than welcome to hang out here, please. I know your a women but you I think you have a big set of brass balls. DFK .. Here in Oregon at the clinic I go to the the Standard of care starts with everyone gets checked for bio-markers like PDL-1. I get full blood tests every two weeks and 15 minutes later I see the ONC for 20-40 minutes and then Durva. I get Scans every 3 months and see the ONC two days later to show me the scan and compare to the last one. Question for anyone: Has anyone with some PDL-1 had to stop getting Duva because of progression or new cancer?
  12. Hi RonH .. thanks very much for sharing your journey with us. If you don't mind what was your TSH? and what is your PDL-1 expression? Michelle .. I'll ask about Metforim, thanks for the suggestion. Barb . so far the only effect is more fatigue, this is so new that it has not had time to mess with me and I start on TSH meds tomorrow to fix things. I'm not stopping unless the Doc says to stop. Hope you keep doing well. Charles.. interesting that you got hyperthyroidism (numbers?) and I got hypothyroidism. Robert .. my Hemoglobin,WBC,RBC,HCT,ALT.AST have all been in normal range and everything I didn't mention. Guts are fine . Thanks for checking into your past blood work and sharing. the journey continues for the Durvas . I know more folks are taking this ... please share, it will help us all, thanks
  13. I got infusion #8 today with lots of fatigue within an hour. Blood work not good and almost didn't get this one. Creatinine (kidney) went from 1.3 to 1.5 and the treatment level says no more than 1.3. Glucose went from 139 to 188. TSH went 29 to 139. I start Levothyroxine 75 tomorrow ..wonder why I'm fatigued, not. everyone is different and this just me and not to be expected for anyone else. enjoy summer ...
  14. Hi Barb, I went to my outdoor event in the woods and after walking on trails for 1 1/2 miles I'm still recovering from the fatigue and better every day. I have an energy bank to use per day and I took an advance last week, still paying back. I feel fine and my human host will recover soon. It's really good to hear you have no side effects as I know you were concerned before you started taking Durv..
  15. Barb, Great news!! Thanks for letting us know.. I think your infusion was today, I hope it went your way. How is your fatigue level, staying the same, getting more or less? Any new side effects? other folks .Please post your scan results stay as cool as you can
  16. Thanks folks... I'm hoping as Duva and other new meds put more people into NED we see OS and PFS extended to lifetime PFS for us all. The numbers say there is an 85% chance that lung cancer will come back within 2 years after NED, I missed 2 years by 2 weeks. Then 1 year 2 months... My numbers are based on when after treatment was Wait and Watch, now many new things like Duva. I don't want a return next year. I can see by the progress reported here that this is working for many and you will soon be part of PFS for a lifetime.... Happy thoughts
  17. Barb: cancer free weight gain makes sense to me with your progress, sound really good. Charles: way to go in the right direction from very large to a walnut. I just got my CT results ... I'm still NED! Infusion #7 today only side effect is fatigue. keep the good news coming fellow travelers
  18. Charles you did not interrupt the conversation, you are a very important part of it and you have show us all how your mental strength can carry us past the physical issues we have. The TSH you have makes mine look small. We are all allowed days of low blood sugar, you have gone through some really hard side effects. I'm glad to see your feeling better today.
  19. Barb ..Armour Thyroid (thyroid tablets) are used to treat hypothyroidism due to many causes. Robert .. I'm a long way from #18 but we are all different, maybe side effect happen as the cancer is being attacked and killed when durva exposes it? Stay as strong as you sound, your part of the reason I decided to take this stuff after reading your journey from the beginning and your positive attitude that it will help us. We really are with a great group to pioneers..
  20. Robert thanks, I'll ask for a full check of those on july 18th when I get blood and chair again..hope your doing well as you near the end of this time in your healing
  21. Hi Michell.. Thanks for the information on Vit b. I have not had any neuropathy at any time during any treatment but I will watch my B's ,maybe my small dose of thc/cbd helps? How are you feeling? you always seem very positive, I hope you feel like you sound.. thanks for being here for so many of us, you are a big help to me with your information and support..
  22. Barb, Great news!!! you are the destroyer of bad things!! & the news that your Doc is not concerned is what we all want to hear. Have you gotten your TSH thyroid checked? This stuff messes with it and my is off the charts at 29+ but I have no symptoms and started taking Amor for it & my Vit D was low, both can cause fatigue. I take lunch to my infusions and call it my picnic day, put on my ear phones and watch my ipad and make believe I'm not in an infusion room with 60 others. enjoy the season all..
  23. Hello All.. Hope we all have great CTs .. My infusion #7 is due this thursday. I asked my Doc. if I could get my infusion a day early to help with the fatigue when I go to a 3 day event in the woods that starts this friday and he said insurance would not allow early and suggested I skip this week. He said as this is a marathon a week break is OK with him and it's his idea. I get a CT July 16th and infusion #7 on July 18th. Sounds like a lot of us are getting a CT .. Please post your results.. To help with fatigue I got a "Myers cocktail" from my naturopathics oncologist. Myers' cocktail containing: 5 mL of magnesium chloride hexahydrate (20%) 3 mL of calcium gluconate (10%) 1 mL of hydroxocobalamin (1,000 μ/mL) 1 mL of pyridoxine hydrochloride (100 mg/mL) 1 mL of dexpanthenol (250 mg/mL) 1 mL of B-complex 100 containing: 100 mg of thiamine HCl, 2 mg of riboflavin, 2 mg of pyridoxine HCl, and 2 mg of panthenol 100 mg of niacinamide, 2% benxyl alcohol 5 mL of vitamin C (500 mg/mL) 20 mL of sterile water.
  24. Hey Barb. Our fatigue is real and it alters our lives, scanvity is a real side effect, living with hope is real too. There are about 20 people getting Durv where I get mine and they are all doing well with no one stopping from side effects. They told me that's the normal here. Stay hydrated and be happy your doing so well...I am
