  1. I've tried to do a search on this site regarding the book The Cure for all Cancers, but was unsuccessful. Does anyone have any comments about this book and it's contents. Thank you much.
  2. My partner has started Alimta and is concerned that the Dr. did not combine this with (I think) cisplatin. Previously the Dr. said he would give him both, but then changed to only Alimta. He thinks that possibly corners are being cut due to his HMO. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I've tried to do a search on this, but am having a hard time with this site. Thank you much.
  3. My partner has inoperable non-small cell which grew from 7 ? to 8 while on first 2 months of chemo according to recent Ct scan. There were other small tumors in same right lung only detected in initial surgery which makes it inoperable. They are now going to start him on Alimta and Cisplatinum. 3 weeks ago p.a. told him tumor had shrunk based on x-ray and he and I were so relieved. P.a. also told him he was Stage II, but he is actually Stage IV. I do wish Doctors would not allow p.a.'s to speak unless they know the facts and what they are talking about. This accurate news that tumor had grown was a shock and my partner feels defeated and is talking about getting things in order. He will start the Alimta/Cisplatinum this coming Tuesday. My question: Any thoughts on the Alimta or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Anybody else have experience with Alimta? Thank you much. Deb
  4. Hi folks, I am helping my friend who has adenocarcinoma. Surgery was not successful so he is on chemo (carboplatin and taxol) which started last week. For weeks prior to this he was taking SamE, alpha lipoic acid, chinese chlorella, vit. d, multi vit./min, turmeric, at my suggestion. Dr. says all is fine but he's not sure of SamE. My friend seems to feel much better on the SamE - it increased his appetite and helped pick up his mood. I'd love to know if anyone else has taken SamE while on chemo or any information you may be able to provide. Thank you very much. Deb
  5. Hi folks. My close friend/companion of 6 years is 65 and diagnosed w/adenocarcinoma which showed met. to chest wall during surgery last week so tumor was not removed. Dr. came out to me shaking his head, saying "I'm so sorry". I got impression he felt there was no hope. Onc. did visit hosp. and we'll visit at his office next week regarding future treatment. I suspect he'll do chemo, etc. To make matters worse, my friend's 35 y.o. son was rushed to hosp. two weeks ago with ALL (acute leukemia) and will be there for several more weeks - we had no idea he was even feeling ill. Now I am my friend's only caregiver. He just got out of hosp. three days ago and is still in much pain, depressed, weak and lost maybe seven lbs. (appetite is improving greatly). He is very angry and depressed and snaps at me all the time. I understand and so far I'm dealing with it. It's so overwhelming as they are like family to me. How can I help my best friend deal with his own illness when he is so overwhelmed now with his son's illness? He looked perfectly healthy before he went to surgery. Deb
