I got silenced on here (11/20/2019) when I tried to offer help in preventing cancer in youth. This non-profit might be a little bit strange to not let outsiders come and speak with their community.

Since I'm not allowed to post anymore here's my website: https://www.quitrich.com

This is my exact message that the mod Kristen banned me for without even speaking to me at all:

    Hey guys!

I'm Randy and I am not a patient. I am, however, a person who quit smoking after 25 years of it. This is going to seem like spam but it isn't. I'm a person, typing this explanation out, and want some feedback from a community that I believe will have an opinion on how I'm trying to help the world as well as reduce the amount of people affected by cancer. I won't be posting any links directly in this thread until a moderator lets me know that it is okay to do so in this circumstance.

So a little about this: I documented my first 30 days of quitting and made a podcast of it so that anyone who wishes to quit can have a companion, on their time. I wanted to share that with anyone who is interested or who might want to share it with their friends and family. Nicotine is a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure, and anything helps in that battle.

I'm also here because I have created a company that has a goal to prevent children from ever picking up a Nicotine related habit, or other unhealthy habits by demonstrating how much these habits cost when finance is taken into account. So it teaches finance as well! For example: $8.50 a pack with a pack per day habit with 8% annual interest from the age of 18 to 67 (Full SS benefits/retirement) is $1,645,378, showcasing the power of compound interest. I don't know about you, but I didn't know this before I started smoking and I would have absolutely not picked the habit up had I known.

Because finance is boring but crucial to learn I've created a story telling experience that introduces an individual to their own personal piggy bank which comes to life when they tap it (this is a website that acts sort of like an app). The piggy bank is excited to be alive but also worried because there are a bunch of villains called the Hammer Gang that are trying to smash all of the worlds piggy banks. Each Hammer represents an industry that preys on peoples addictions and as the piggy bank introduces them one by one the individual is given the opportunity put how much they spend on their habits/addictions which is ran through a compound interest calculation and gives them a final number. This resulting number is an estimate of how much these Hammers are planning on taking from the individual in financial opportunity. This interactive experience is called the Habit Calculator and it took about a year to design and build.

I hope you're with me so far, because here's where it gets really innovative!

The company is a Clothing Brand. Yup, that's right, clothing. Each piece of clothing features a QR code that, when scanned, leads a person to free interactive content. The overall goal of the company is to help end poverty. The content is release in "Seasons" which act more like a TV show than fashion. The first season is focused on Addiction and uses it as a catalyst and example of why learning about finance is imperative. It features a story telling experience: The Habit Calculator, a basic compound interest calculator (in case people want to play around with the figures, and an interactive companion podcast for those who wish to quit smoking. The next Season the awakened piggy banks of the world have built a school that teaches financial education for free in an easy to digest fashion.

My only trouble is nobody knows this exists. I've tried FB ads with targeted audiences with the little budget that I have but can't seem to find any traction. The podcast is doing well by itself and since it's launch in Feb 2019 it has had 65,000 listens in over 100 countries. I wish that equated in the amount of people who saw the other content I have for them, but it doesn't. At this moment I don't see a lot of traffic to the website.

At 2 1/2 years in to the creation of this business I'm feeling a little discouraged but not giving up at all. When I was trying to think of what audience might appreciate and see the good in what I'm doing I thought of cancer survivors and people who have friends and family who have struggled with this disease. I know what I'm offering to the world isn't a cure, but it might be able to detract some of the millions of children who adopt cancer causing habits. Right now the conversation is trying to decide if flavored alternatives should be allowed because of the ongoing vape crisis with teens. I believe my information can detract teens from vaping or smoking. Laws will never have the same potency as education and truths.

Anyway, before I ramble on too much more I'd like to ask you guys what you think of some of these ideas and open up a conversation about what I'm trying to do! I'm an open book! 💛
