  1. The beginning is so hard with all the waiting for results, treatment, etc. You'll be started before you know it now and then you'll get into a routine and believe me start to feel better. I know once I started my chemo, mentally I felt better because I was doing something to fight!

Wishing your dad and you the very best.

  2. What great advice everyone has here. I, like your dad are stage IV with mets to bone. My doctors thoughts are that they can't get it all, so they will continue to try to keep me stable, making sure there is no further spread and of course allow me to have a good quality of life. As I continue along, with new advances coming all the time, hopefully, if something stops working, there will be something new to try. So far, so good.

You've just gotta keep on smiling.

  3. I definitely agree about getting your mom out of there asap. If it becomes necessary, there is a family leave act, that does allow you to take off a certain number of weeks to care for a family member without worrying about losing your job or insurance. I would ask someone at your company about this and if it had to be taken all at once, or if you could just split up the time. I'm really curious myself.
