    DON M2000

CONGRATULATIONS Don, Thanks so much for being here. Your posts are so informative and I really appreciate all you do. Joan
  2. Terri, I always used to say "things happen for a reason, and usually work out for the best" (pre-Lung Cancer days). Well, I think this is still one of those situations that I believe will work out that way. You'll probably find a much better job: better pay, better hours, etc. I truely hope so. Joan
  3. Love It!!!! Joan hate people like that
  4. Gail, My sincere condolences to you and your family. I'm so sorry it wasn't a peaceful ending for your dad. Joan
  5. Oh Boy, is that fabulous!!!!!!!! I just love to start my day hearing such good news. Joan
  6. Sending all my best wishes and prayers to Rich. Let it not be his heart and may he recover quickly. Joan

Rich, Just a few more wishes for you to feel better real quick. Joan
  9. I was just reading through the posts, getting ready to respond to Mark's post and saw the very sad news. It seems so quick. I'm so, so sorry. Joan
  10. Lori, From what I know about you, you're not a quitter by any stretch of the imagination. I certainly can understand how you're feeling right now. And, that's ok, cause we have to let this stuff out sometimes. But, it's only a matter of time before you'll pull yourself together and reach deep down and do what needs to be done. When I get down, which we all do, I always think that somewhere there is someone who has it worse than I do. I'd rather help that person than worry about myself. I guess that's my way of dealing. I wish I could help in someway, but I have faith that you'll do it and wish you and your family the best. Joan
  11. Sorry I can't help with dx, but I'd just like to wish Len well and hope he recovers real soon. Joan
  12. I was a financial planner. I loved my work because (in theory) gave me the freedom to plan my days however I'd like. I loved the people I met and worked with. I would have only changed jobs to be able to make the same money or more, but LESS hours. My hours felt like 24/7, but I worked approximately 11 hours a day. I did enjoy my own schedule. That means I worked more. I'm currently on Disability, but still correspond with clients that had become good friends. Joan
  13. Oh Lori, I'm so sorry and so sad. I also believe in miracles. Joan
  14. Doc wants new scans done before we can make any decisions and he wants me to heal from the radiation. I feel like I get a little vacation. He did give me info on two trials that I'm looking into. Joan
  15. I was starting to ask how you're ribs were feeling? Joan
  16. Hi Mary, I finished my 10 day radiation on Wednesday of this week. Yes, I'm still tired. I never nap and this past week I've napped every day. The docs said the radiation will still be working for up to another 2 weeks and I may still feel tired. Mine was also on my spine somewhere and also sacrum. I'm too tired to remember. Joan How's y
  17. Hi Marie, I really don't like what your onc said about your shoulder pain. First of all, Tylenol has been found to cause liver problems and you should be very careful with that. I recently had shoulder pain and was sent for an MRI. They were able to tell that there was no cancer, and it was blamed on arthritic changes. I would start calling every large cancer center or hospital to see who takes Aetna. Someone must. As far as Sloan, they are probably the toughest hospital as far as insurance goes. Maybe some of the other NY hospitals accept it. Many are excellent. Best wishes, Joan
  18. I'm so sorry. My sincere condolences. Way too quick. Joan
  19. Oh Jamie, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy for you Make that one apple martini straight up. Joan
  20. Hi Shirley, Yes, definitely call your doctor. I have experienced a lot of leg pain which was actually coming from a bone met on my sacrum that was pressing on a nerve. Anyway, I'm just about finishing radiation for it and its made a huge difference. Always check out pain. Take care, Joan
  21. So happy for you all. One day at a time. HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY

Hi Bill, So sorry to hear about this new wrinkle. Stage IV isn't fun, but it is doable. I agree with the many who said, new stuff coming along all the time. We've just got to stay around to benefit from it. That's my plan!! I wish you only the best and if anyone can do it, you sure can. Joan
