Hello Christie, I was diagnosed stage 3A adenocarcinoma lung cancer. I had six weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemo (carboplatinum/taxol). I then had surgery, an upper right lobectomy followed by two sessions of the same but a stronger dose of the same chemo. My surgery was in July, 2005. My scans have been clear since. Barb I am so sorry to read that Bill has passed. I too have followed you and Bill's story from the very beginning of my own diagnosis and am very saddened by his passing. Please know that my thougts and prayers are with you and your family. Carol

I am so sorry about your friend Maryanne, and I am angry about it right along with you. I met a woman who has since died from lung cancer. She told me that she had complained to the doctor for months about her cough and congestion. By the time she was finally diagnosed=stage 4. Carol

WOW Geri that is fantastic news!!! I think having two birthdays is good. I claim my surgery date (July 1st) as my second birthday. Hey just between the two of us that makes four as in 4 birthday parties. Now that is pretty darn good!!! Carol

Fantastic story Eric. I had a doctor that told me that there was not much that could be done for me. I fired her! My oncologist, radiologist and surgeon were wonderful. July 1st will be the five year annivrsary of my surgery and by the Grace of God I have had clean scans since. I taught high school history, it was wonderful to get back to my students. I have since retired as I had always planned, after 35 years of teaching. You just keep on keeping on!!! Carol

I certainly add my prayers for you with the rest of the group here. I am praying that you have a successful surgery and that you are patient with yourself and give your body time to heal. I will say a special prayer for you in the morning as you go in for surgery. They will have you up walking the hospital hallway the next day. Remember, when they start giving you food to eat, eat it even though you may not feel like it. Just chew drink and swallow. Be sure to drink plenty of water also. Carol
