  1. Lexiecat, I’m so happy to hear you are feeling good!! I hope you breeze through this!! Sending you good vibes😊
  2. Samgirl50, Hi, and welcome to this awesome forum. I’m not on here a lot, but everyone’s words of encouragement mean so much to me. I understand your fear. I’m exactly like you with this fear. I couldn’t eat, all I did was cry. I didn’t think I could find the strength to move on, but you will! I was diagnosed with Small Cell (sclc) in July. Of course I read all about it and that is the scariest one. So I was and still am freaked out. I was so lucky that they caught it early, stage 1 and 1 cm. I had my left upper lung removed on August 31st. I see my oncologist to see what’s next

    No more chemo!

That is awesome news!!! Congratulations 🎉
  4. I’m very interested in your story and blog. Thank you Heather.
  5. I went to see the RO today. I liked him a lot. My daughter went with me because hubby wouldn’t know the right questions to ask ( that’s what my daughter says). Dr said it’s pretty rare to see a sclc with stage 1, and actually have surgery to remove the lung. not a lot of data yet on the radiation to the brain. But he wants me to see him in 3 months when chemo is done or almost done and we can talk about the radiation then.  Oncology appointment on the 18th.  I’m very nervous and scared to start chemo.

  7. Deb, yikes I haven’t sneezed yet. I will let you know if it’s weird, lol.
  8. Thank you!! I just want all of your opinions. This is all new to me and I know absolutely nothing about this journey as yet.
  9. Diane, Thank you for your words of encouragement. I do feel so blessed. You guys are so awesome on here!!! Radiation Oncologist appointment tomorrow.
  10. Thanks Tom, I value your knowledge.
  11. Babs, I see radiation onc on Friday. That’s it for now. They want me to do radiation to the brain just to be careful. I don’t know how I feel about that. What do you guys think?
  12. I get to go home today! I’m so happy!! Chest tube coming out soon. I’m doing the breathing thing, walking and resting.
  13. Thanks Babs, I’m walking and trying to do stuff on my own. I want OUT!! Lol, I hate hospitals!! But they are so nice here. I’m getting by with 1,000 mg Tylenol so that’s good. Thank you for your encouragement, it is greatly appreciated!! sheryl
  14. Hi Fox, surgery went well. I’m very sore and only have had one pain pill. It was only half of what was ordered. I do not want to use OxyContin. I’m walking without assistance too. It really hurts to take a breath, I feel like I have been beat up. Surgeon had said I had some granuloma which were very small that he took out of my lower lung and he will biopsy those. They did not light up in pet scan but I guess you never know. Seems so weird that part of my lung is gone. It’s taking me a minute to process this. Radiation oncology appointment is on Friday. Thank you for checking in.
