  1. We had five kids over yesterday, decorating eggs. It is a cheap extravagance, I'll tell you. But what am I to do with 3 dozen hard boiled eggs?!?!? Kelly

    Quilt of Holes

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing that. Kelly
  3. Grateful for a sunny day and working on the lawn. Grateful for the family who will be here celebrating with us tomorrow. Grateful for you guys! Kelly
  4. Grateful for the little things in life---coloring eggs with my kids and their cousins. Also the big things--my niece and nephew will be baptized tomorrow, and we are the godparents. Grateful Easter will be here soon! Kelly
  5. How very caring and brave of you to go and visit your sister's house. I will pray for you. Praying that it will be joyous and peaceful, and in every corner you will find a happy memory. Kelly
  6. The image of my daughter in her little straw hat when she was two...thaks for reminding me of that! Grateful for a sunny day, and NO SCHOOL tomorrow. It will make it a GOOD Friday, indeed! Kelly

    Just Very Weird...

As soon as you mentioned it, I remembered it...but only about 3 lines. How interesting that this particular song emerged from your subconscious at this point. Now it will be rattling around inside my head all night. At least I know more than 3 lines now, and can appreciate the lyrics more! Kelly
  8. Hey--we finally saw some sun today! Grateful for that! DH is coming home after being gone awhile, and son only has an ear infection--not the other problems I was concerned about. I may actually get some sleep tonight! Kelly
  9. I LOVE this, and I really needed to read it tonight. I swear, this will help me keep climbing out of my well. I'm forwarding it on immediately to friends. Bless you, my friend. Kelly
  10. Grateful for the rain today, and the nice safe place to be during the rain. Grateful that the bank FINALLY wised up and released $$$ of mine they had 'put a hold on'. Geesh! Grateful for my good old dog, who howls along with my daughter everytime she practices her clarinet. I will miss that is she ever quite playing. Kelly
  11. Grateful that I made it through the first day back at school with no worries...very glad that St. Pat's gave us something to be silly about. I'm smiling thinking about my red-headed Irish grandma, watching down over me. Kelly

    "You Never Let Go"

I had never heard that...it really is powerful. Kelly
  13. My brother made it tonight for family dinner (he had to do the work AND cleaned it up!), so I will consider that good enough. I like it well enough once a year, but I'm not rushing back two days in a row. Green beer however...I'll take that! Kelly
  14. I am so sorry for your news. I imagine her in heaven, surrounded by family and friends, laughing that infectious laugh. I pray for peace for you. Kelly

    Been a While...

I came here today because I was feeling the same way...at least I'm glad I stumbled on to a friend and the wonderful picture of her boy...always makes me smile. It does just smack you down, and shake you up, doesn't it? The people in my life don't get it---they assume that I am "over it" and "better", so I just cry alone. I miss my Mom. I miss having parents. I miss having someone there each day who would listen to me grinch about the day, and then offer to "go up there and take care of" the people who were giving me grief. I get it, Missy...I really do! We can't both be crazy, so I think we are just in good company. Kelly
  16. Grateful that I only have to make it through ONE MORE DAY before spring break! Boy, so I need it, too. Grateful that Jackie keeps tabs on us and takes care of us. Kelly
  17. We love you! We love you! We love you! And where you go we'll follow, we'll follow, we'll follow... OK, that sounds a bit like a stalker now that I think about it. Just know that you are truly loved here, and that we are wrapping you in warm blankets of hugs and prayers. Kelly
  18. LOVE those big, blue, intelligent eyes! Kelly
  19. Brau's peppermint Chocolate/Heath orange sherbet Well-balanced, I think! The headaches would be enermous, but oh-so worth it. Kelly
  20. Grateful that all my really big problems right now are not that big of a deal, in the long run. Thankful for perspective. Kelly
  21. GREAT info, Christine! I would just echo the being honest with your sister. It seems like what they imagine is scarier to them than the truth. With my mom we kept them updated (good and bad) in as simple (but truthful) terms as possible. I've also found that I sometimes had to prompt them. I might even say something like, "I'm in kind of a bad/sad mood today because..." They would often join in with their own feelings, then. Praying for you and your sister. Kelly
  22. Can't say anything new, just throwing my support and understanding your way. Be good to yourself! Kelly
  23. I would love to snort indignantly and say those aren't true....but they are! Having lived in MN for 10 winters, I especially agree with the clothing one. Thanks for making me laugh! Kelly
  24. Hope today passes gently for you, and that you can find some smiles. Kelly
