Hi Angelina. I also am a SCLC patient and did basically the same treatment as you except the preventive brain radiation. I did not develop neuropathy so really have no advice. My mother had it in her hands and feet and was on lyrica which helped a little. I too have insomnia and have had a sleep study which showed mild sleep apnea. I am going to get a cpap machine and will see if that helps. I will pray for good results with your pet scan. Sorry I’m not much help. You have come to the right place thou. There are awesome people on this forum and I’m sure someone will be able to give you advice. Keep us informed. Pam

Glad to hear that the lesion is shrinking and hope it will more with the next MRI. I had gamma knife last week for a 5mm lesion on my right temporal lobe, also another small one detected with MRI the morning of my procedure. I will have follow up MRI in two months.

Happy Birthday Bridget! That was a rough first day for you and your wife…glad to hear that things are better. Thank goodness for friends to help us thru tough times. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

I was diagnosed with LS SCLC in Nov of 2021. I had a nodule in right upper lobe and hilar lymph node involvement. I had 4 rounds of chemotherapy with carboplatin and etoposide and 30 daily radiation treatments. Maybe you can speak to your oncologist about switching to carboplatin in place of the cistoplatin as my side effects were just tiredness and one bout of constipation. It is really important to stay hydrated. Radiation side effect was some heartburn and difficulty swallowing which went away shortly after treatment. I was not offered any immunotherapy so can’t give you any advice.

Oh boy Ken….I guess you have been put thru the wringer with this. I hope they figure out what is going on with all this fluid. Praying for you. Pam

Sorry to hear that it is confirmed cancer for your wife Bridget. I pray that her mastectomy will go well. You are a good friend to bring the hamburger helper to your co worker. I guess sometimes you just get that craving for a certain thing. Glad that your kitty is fine now. They certainly are a great comfort to us. Pam

I’m sorry to hear of the brain met. The one I had was eradicated by gamma knife radiosurgery. Maybe that will be an option for your brother? Let us know.
