  1. Sorry to hear that it is confirmed cancer for your wife Bridget. I pray that her mastectomy will go well. You are a good friend to bring the hamburger helper to your co worker. I guess sometimes you just get that craving for a certain thing. Glad that your kitty is fine now. They certainly are a great comfort to us.

  2. So sorry to hear this Rikke. The PET scan sounds like a good route to go as “the little blip” should clearly be definitive. I guess if there is a bright side to this, they didn’t go in to remove the one adrenal gland when they may have to remove both. Also discussing chemo could be another option. Everyone is different but my chemo was fairly easy with no side effects. I know you have had radiation but could that be another option to repeat? Wishing you a good outcome to this development and keep us posted.

  3. I had my Brain MRI and CT scan of lungs, abdomen and pelvis done. The MRI showed NED. On the CT, there was slight decrease of adrenal mass from 3.5cm x 2.7 cm to 3.3cm x 2.3cm. I have attached the impression the radiologist had regarding the right lung. It has me a little stressed to the inconclusive results. I am scheduled for repeat CT in 3 months but am wondering if that is considered more then “short term interval”. I am also wondering if I should ask for PET scan instead. I did have a PET in Feb which showed substantial decrease in the FDG uptake consistent with treated inflammatory etiology in the lung. Maybe I should ask for repeat in two months instead of three? Thoughts would be appreciated.IMG_1302.thumb.png.f64d022ee40df4ba02112f3f133ae290.png

  4. Hi ANC… I agree with what Tom said. I was diagnosed initially with limited stage Sclc which was treated with chemo and radiation. It then metastasized to my brain which was treated with gamma knife radiosurgery which then classified me as extended stage. I was just treated with SBRT to my right adrenal gland for metastasis there. I am being treated at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as it is close to me( about 50 mins away). With you being in Syracuse, you could go NYC way or Roswell, or you could go out of state if you feel a different hospital would be better. I wish your father and you the best as you navigate your options.

  5. I’m sorry to hear that there was growth and avidity to the adrenal mass rikke, but that is positive news that they can remove it and that there is no other sign of disease. I had growth and avidity in my right adrenal gland. I had 3 sessions of SBRT and will have my CT scan on May 10th to see how effective it was. Fingers crossed for us both!
