  12. Hi guys, I don't know if you remember me but I wrote a few things a got quite a bit of help in the nsclc message board; I have just found out that my husband has lung cancer; 2 weeks after the biopsy they have finally named it....Anaplastic carcinoma - not otherwise specified??? which apparently means that they are 80% sure that it is non small cell but there are small cells shown in the biopsy result...it is also 7cm....and seems to be embedded in the chest wall. He has to have an ultrasound guided biopsy of the pleural fluid next week as they say to get a staging. He has 3 small nodules around lymph nodes but this did not show up on PET scan...only on CT scan. I am scared because they believe that they can do surgery on it...but if it is small cell, have I got reason to worry that it might spread to another part of his body while waiting surgery? I hope someone can allay my fears...My husband is only 45 years young! Thanks again for your support and even tho I haven't been on the site for a while....you have all been in my thoughts. Take care Jenny

    Shrunk again!

Hi, I can only speak from my experience with mum, she was told that after her last round of chemo they would do a ct scan and see where things were at, then she would have another appointment with her onc 3 months later and another ct scan and if the cancer had got any worse they would look at a different type of chemo...well mum's last ct scan showed NED of lungs bone mets were the same as dx. We didn't like the idea of mum stopping chemo but have come to realise that her body needed the break to recuperate...also the chemo lasts up to 3 months in the system so in a way she is still getting the effects of chemo without the side effects, so we are just making every day count...doing things that she enjoys doing...My sister even booked her on a glider and mum had a ball!! got a certificate and all Hope this helps a bit. Take care Jenny
  24. Happy Birthday...Let's drink to many, many more (any excuse for a drink )
  25. Dear Pat and Brian, You are in my thoughts and prayers that everything will turn out well...You know there are miracles because you are reading about them everyday on this site....sending a miracle prayer your way now Take care
