I am finding it difficult to post these words here to you all who have so much courage and are facing a common beast, however, I do want you to know that I have been in touch with Addie and Mr Addie and I did say I would post an update... ...because of a deterioration in her condition over the weekend she won't be getting that next round of chemo treatment, however, she has started some pain medication, so our Addie is comfortable. She enjoys phone calls and Mr Addie says that headset phone has been great, she can hear her A-Team callers easily and answers clearly when she can. Addie remains positive and strong in spirits, and I know she would be writing some sassy words to encourage you to fight the good fight. I just wish I could find a bit of her eloquence today... Cindi, because of your quadruple ? post I figured you really wanted to hear some news I plan to call Addie in the next few days, however, I can give a little of an update for now... ...Addie is starting another round of chemo (if Temodar is the one that she takes orally, then that's the one) this next week, and so the scan that was scheduled for 24 January will be postponed. She is comfortable, and TeamAddie has come up with yet another little plan to make her even more so more on that later once we've delivered the surprise. One of the A-Team organized to send her a headset phone, which she's been using for a couple of weeks now and it has really helped, she doesn't have to be concerned about holding the phone in the right position while she speaks to so many callers. She can just chat away and we can hear her smile She got her new supply of cookies and candies from another one of the A-Team and she said she was sharing the candies with MrAddie, though it isn't a video phone, so we can't be certain I'll have more of an update in a few days, and of course will post any news...for now, she's continuing with her 'tude and sharing a few laughs with us. Oh yes Cindi, her home team and cyber team are still keeping after her in fact I spoke with her last night and interrupted her visit with the f-DIL. ( upon re-reading that last acronym I wonder which word you all will put in that starts with f ) Addie has daily visits from the nursing aides, well, weekday visits, and she keeps her mind busy with crosswords and does a bit of knitting too, she checks out all her favorite cyberplaces and reads email on the laptop...typing as you know is difficult for her...and TeamAddie has had to resort to the old fashioned kind of communication...the telephone Her voice is strong and bright, she doesn't have much pain and should do more leg exercises, right Addie ?! and she holds onto a serious amount of Addietude...coming up in a couple of weeks is another scan, so I hope she'll post those results when she can. So I guess I know how I rate with Addie I didn't get a cookbook...she probably knows that I'm not home enough to cook, nor do I have anyone around much who wants more than corn dogs for dinner however, those corn dog lovers did get a pair of gorgeous non-cook books that they treat like the treasures they are, and we did thank her for those, so I'll just have to wait until Bibala or Mainiac can whip me up something special from that book... ...did anyone submit a recipe for sauerkraut balls? Be sure and ask Addie to submit her special recipe for the next edition

And I want to see photographic evidence...Addie, will you please get that camera of yours to the coop and take pictures of all those that revolve through your doors?! just had to delurk one more time to stir things up

Jen...I am another friend of Addie (and Bibala) and I lurk here looking out for her, making sure she's telling *me* all that there is to know about her battle She is in such great hands (fingertips?!) with you and everyone here and I'm forever greatful that you have found each other. You asked where she is staying...she's in Danbury Hospital 11th Floor Room 15...does that information help? She hopes to be out by next Tuesday, so she won't be flying the coop quite yet... humbly yours,
