  1. Jeffrey and I are praying for you and will continue. Prayers from Illinois! Stacey
  2. The multi-vitamin with antioxidants program recommends 2 pkts per day and I only give him one pkt. Our oncologist says that some people go overboard with the antioxidants and give them numerous times per day. It's the old mindset that if one is good then 5 will work better! Usually not true. I also only give him one mushroom capsule per day whereas the bottle says 3-6 per day. I have not read anything negative about the mushrooms. What have you heard? I've done so much research on this internet that I easily could have missed some important facts. So far his bloodwork has come back within normal limits. I pray alot though, so I'm sure that is the main factor helping us through this. Praise God! Stacey
  3. I am so happy to find this site. I have been on the internet every evening and last night was the first time I found it and I don't really recall how I found it, I'm just glad I did. I am a registered nurse and I worked Oncology for 1 year at the hospital and my sister died 20yrs ago when she was 34 yrs old of pancreatic cancer. Many advances in treatments and pain management have been made since then. I also believe in alternative medicine. Our oncologist is aware of all the supplements that I have my husband on and he just smiled as he wrote them down. I do not give Jeffrey any supplements on the day of chemo. The Taxol and Carboplatin are excreted within 24 hours. I restart all supplements the day after. Today was chemo #4 and his bloodwork remains within normal limits with no significant drops. He also has gained 5lbs. since he started the actual multi-vitamin formula. The oncologist said just don't go overboard with antioxidants, of which I don't. How else is his body going to nourishment to rebuild the cells the chemo destroys? We have nothing to lose at this point. I appreciate the warm welcome to this site and all your suggestions. Stacey
  4. My husband, age 50 was diagnosed with a large pancoast tumor in December 2005. He presented with Horners Triad and still has. The tumor is Stage IIIB. It has grown arond the superior vena cava and the brachial plexus. He will receive his 4th chemo tomorrow with carboplatin and taxol. He has daily radiation treatments. I started him on a fantastic multi-vitamin program with lots of antioxidants. He also takes a mushroom capsule per day, plus another herb daily, 100 mg. CoQ10 daily and 6 gtts of an herbal formula twice a day. We won't recheck tumor status until 6 wks of chemo and radiation is completed. So far he is tolerating treatments. Checked on Sun Soup, but too expensive for us to purchase. We need lots of prayers. Thank you, Stacey
