    Roll Call

Lily, I haven't posted for a long time, but want to let you know my husband is doing great! He was diagnosed in October 2005. Not sure if anyone remembers me but Tom had cancer, a stroke, and a truck run over his legs all within six months time (my mother always said everything happens in 3s). No chemo or radiation since early 2006. Has met with his oncologist and pulmonary doctor every six months and we are very blessed that NED is hanging around. Mary

    Christmas in Heaven

Thinking of those who are missing a loved this Christmas season. Mary Christmas in Heaven We’ve shared our hearts, full of Holiday Cheer And shopped for presents for loved ones this year The house is dressed up with garland and lights But even with all of this Holiday bliss There’s someone we lost that we terribly miss And as this Christmas Day draws near We wish with all of our hearts she was here She’s living her life way up past the starts Somewhere past Jupiter, Saturn and Mars She’s spending her Christmas in Heaven, you see And last night as I slept, a dream came to me, She was standing before me, happy and well She said to me “I have something to tell… Heaven’s more wondrous than you would believe It’s the greatest of gifts I could ever receive. I’d like for you all to remember the good… You know that I’d be there if only I could. So don’t feel so bad that I’m not there There are so many memories you can share As you gather together, I’m sure you’ll find The gifts deep within you that I left behind. Each one is unique and wrapped brightly in love They shine from your hearts as I shine from above. Copied from the South Bend Tribune Obituaries Section (12-16-07)

  6. Is it possible that she has a urinary tract infection? It is amazing what it can do to older people. What is her doctor saying? Mary

  14. Nova, This was the combination my husband had. He had chemo (once per week) and radation (daily) at the same time. After radiation was completed, he had chemo twice a week when his blood counts were good. My husband was always give an anti-naseau medicine in the IV prior to the chemo. He did not get sick. However, he did have to have shots to raise his blood counts, had a blood transfusion, and problems with hydration (a couple of visits to the hospital on week-ends to replenish). He was very tired and did not work during his treatments/radiation (partly because his commute to work is 57 miles one way). All in all, we had a pretty normal life during his treatments. Hoping your husband has the same successful results as mine. Sending up Prayers. Mary
