The trip was great! I can't tell you what it's like to eventually meet these girls face to face. There's just an unspoken bond that was made over the years and I finally feel somewhat whole after meeting them! While in Seattle, we went to the Music Emporium. We had to opportunity of creating our own band. We called ourselves "Making Mama Proud". I don't think our record will make the radio circuit, but it was great to play make believe! haha.
Katie and Rick, without this website, I would never have had the opportunity to meet these wonderful women. Being an only child, it's nice to have the support of people that I can relate to. Without this website, I would have gone through all the difficult times feeling so alone. Thank you!!

Andrea,
Again, I'm so sorry...I have no words other than some bad ones that will be bleeped out. I hate cancer. I hate cancer. I hate cancer. From one only child to the another, I am here for you. You are not alone...you have a big family here on the board.
Thinking of you.

Carleen,
I'm so terribly sorry to hear about Keith. Through watching your journey the last three years I want to tell you that you and Keith have touched my life with inspiration. Keith was a true fighter. I know that Keith will not be forgotten because you and him were one together and I know that because of that you emulate him in your personality. His family must be so proud to have you in their lives. You were a dedicated wife and unbelievable support. I pray that you can have "signs", dreams, memories, anything helpful that can help you have breaks from the pain. Keith is finally free from this disease.

Lori, I'm so sorry. Reading your post just reminded me of the raw and shocking place this disease can bring you to. I whole heartedly can empathize with you and wish I was nearby to reach out and hug you. Unfortunately I don't have any insightful words but want to let you know that I'm thinking of you and your sweet mom. No one, not even cancer, can take away that special relationship you and your Mom have. Cancer is a serious
*&(hole. I wish it were tangible to beat the %*^( out of. (Sorry, my anger is coming out here)

Thanks Michele My friends Mom did a lot for me when I was younger. She is the Mom that all of went to for advice when we were teenagers. I just empathize so much with them all and I just wish there was something I could do.

Thanks everyone! Luckily, family is flying in and my friend who just had her baby is recuperating quickly and going to be there this weekend. I'm going to email her sister and let her know your suggestions.
I hate cancer. I really do.

Hi Everyone,
I need your help again. My good friend's little sister (who is only 22) is in need of some help in the home. Her mom is being sent home tomorrow from the hospital and she feels she can no longer care for her mom on her own. My friend (who is her older sister) is in the hospital right now 2 hours away (just had a baby) so she can't help right now. Their Medicare application for their Mom is in process (they have no insurance), but the hospital won't refer any home care because they don't officially have Medicare intact yet. Anyone have any advice? Right now their mom is probably prematurely being sent home. Her speech and mobility is impaired and they are no longer treating her. This just doesn't seem right to me.

Glo,
Your mother is in my prayers and you are in my thoughts.

Hi Nancy!
The organizer of the event lives in La Canada too, like you, and is a member of the golf course. If you can PM me your email address, I will swap contact info between you. My husband and I are going to be there so I'll finally get to meet some of you if you go!

Hey Girlie!
I admire you for having the guts to pick up and move! I hope the Caribbean is everything you'd hoped it be and more. I visited St. Thomas about 7 years ago and fell in love with it and the locals. Those banana daquiries are really good. It is really nice to get an update on you. I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's reoccurence. Please keep us posted on her and you.
