    Hey, Judy!

    She has an appointment with her oncologist in 2 weeks to go over the CT/PET.

    The letter mentioned a rescan in 6 months, which is her current CT/PET schedule.

    I'm hoping the oncologist will ease her mind about this.

    Thank You, Everyone!

    Well, wouldn’t you know it… We were celebrating her clean CT scan. So I get home from work and there’s a letter on the table from her radiologist about her recent mammography. They detected some changes which were “probably benign”. Probably nothing to worry about (said Kim), but just enough to get a little background train of thought going in her head. And then the restaurant was a little disappointing. New ownership. Just wasn’t quite the same. No, it didn’t turn into a bad evening. We went home, started a fire in the fireplace, put on some music (louder than usual, the nest was empty), had a few beers and had a lot of fun.

    Everything changes.

    Hi, Marianne-

    I had to respond because I laughed out loud about your mask idea!

    My wife, Bev, was also diagnosed SCLC limited and went through just about the same regime as you.

    I’m afraid I can’t be much help to your question as I can’t be certain when she started losing her hair.

    I think it was after the PCI.

    She was very fatigued for at least a month afterwards.

    But her energy and hair came back eventually.

    That was 3 years ago and I hope you have the same response.

    This is a great place for support, questions and people who know what you and your family are going through.

    My wife, Bev, also had an early diagnosis of SCLC. That was 4 years ago and she is alive and well today.

    Hi, Kathy-

    You sound like you're ready to take on this hurdle and get past it.

    My wife Bev was diagnosed with SCLC Limited in Sept. 2004.

    She was determined to fight with every thing it took.

    Radiation, chemo and finally PCI.

    She made it through and is alive and well, no sign of any disease.

    I hope your treatments turn out easier than you might be anticipating.

    Hi, Connie-

    My wife, Bev, was very fatigued after her PCI. I think it was about 3 months until her hair started to come back, but she has a full head of hair now. This was the toughest period of her treatment. It's been over 3 years since then.

    It doesn't seem right that your sister was taken away so young.

    You have my condolences.

    The obit was fine. It conveys what people need to know more than that she died of cancer- that she was part of a loving family.

    Glad to hear your Mom has made it through.

    My wife, Bev, went through the same treatments.

    Don't be surprised if she still feels crappy

    for the next couple of months.

    That stuff takes a toll on you,

    but it gets better.

    Mixed Emotions...

    …about posting good news.

    Bev is now 3 years out of treatment.

    Her CT and PET scans have come back clean again.

    I feel so, so lucky. But I know luck only played a small part in her survival.

    Bev’s gentle, loving nature hides a reserve of grit and determination.

    She gave it her all and did what ever had to be done.

    When I think of all that she unhesitatingly went through, it gives me a chill.

    Well, I’m waxing poetic now. I better quit before I sprain my index finger.

    While she’s still a proud member of this Survivor group,

    she leaves it to me to keep in touch with you all (Sorry, Kasey!).

    I think she wants to distance herself from cancer as much as she can.

    I don’t blame her one bit.

    I read all of your stories. I believe anyone who has made it this far

    to come on this board and share is a very strong person.

    We are all stronger because of it.

    I hope Bev's success will impart some hope to all of you

    in this battle.

    We’re off the rollercoaster now and trying to find our way to the exit.

    I think it’s near.
