  1. Sorry about your mother's dx.

This is the best place for information and hope.

There are many survivors here that have been where your mother is now.

The initial shock of learning that you have this disease is one of the worst parts.

Read about the survivors here and you will see that you can fight back

SCLC does respond well to chemo.

    Good Luck to your Mom.

  2. So sorry you have to be here. I hope this site can be a sanctuary for you and your husband.

I know the helpless feeling of watching a loved one in a battle for their life. My wife has been battling SCLC and even though she has beaten back the beast, I cry often, thinking about all that she has gone through.

    It's just unfair!

Hopefully, the treatment regimen for your husband will keep on with the shrinkage. Many here have had lesions zapped off the map, also.

    Best wishes,

    Kim & Bev

  3. Jessica-

It is very evident from your posts that you are a very caring daughter.

Your proactiveness will help your mother tremendously.

And you're getting through the toughest part now.

It's not easy, but it gets better.

Many have been through this and emerged to continue on with their lives.

    Keep doing what you're doing.

There will be plenty of tears and fears, but stay strong and she will prevail.

    Good luck!

  4. Sorry for all you are going through, but you've found a good place here. Many here have gotten the same diagnosis/ prognosis and turned things around. It sounds like your wife has the strength to endure the effects of the treatments. The treatments do work. One of the mottoes of this site is "Reject Statistics"! I hope you can get some breathing room and perservere. Don't give up. There is definitely hope. The people here will give it to you.

  5. Hi, Beckie

Welcome to a great support site.

Your post had me riveted. The love in your family is very evident and well expressed.

I think it is one of several things in your favor.

It's a tough time getting through treatments, but it sounds like there is reason for a lot of hope with your Mother.

    Here's to better days,

  6. 3 years is good news, for sure! We hope for many more.

Your perserverance and resolve are inspiring for many.

Hope to see you posting in this forum again soon.
