  1. Hello Lorna and welcome, I am sorry about your need to be here on a site such as this but glad you have joined us. I have no answers for you, either, but a couple of suggestions. Have you addressed these concerns with your husbands doctor? It would seem to me that you would know best if there is a change in your husband's appearance, such as the way you describe his stomach and the breath issues. I have heard that some medications can cause a type of reaction that can cause bad breath and perhaps that is the case here? I would make a list of things that you have ANY concern about, regardless of whether they seem like small issues or not and have a talk with the doctors. It is always best to keep them informed of anything that seems not right. Now, keep in mind that there are many people here that have been in your situation. Ask any and all of your questions and know that someone will be along with words of advice and tons of encouragement and HOPE. We are here for you, let us know how we can help and know that we will do our best. Please keep us posted on your husband as well as you, My best to you both, Chris

  7. Hello Trish and welcome Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your brother. I am so sad to read this. I believe and this is only my opinion and certainly not gospel, but I think when a person is faced with an illness like lung cancer they feel the need to protect those closest to them and so they with hold a lot of the truth about their conditions. This has been my personal experience and as you know first hand, it does little to make this situation easier. Please let me know if you'd like to talk further about this. Drop me a PM if you'd like. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Chris

  12. Hi Robin I cannot really shed any light on what to expect from the chemo, just remember to drink plenty of water before and after and if the doctor has given you anti~nausea meds, take them regardless of feeling sick or not. It is better and easier to take the meds and be prepared as getting the nausea under control after is much more challenging. Will be thinking of you as Friday comes. Let us know how you are and how we can help. Chris
  13. Thank you for sharing this information. I believe it is of utmost importance to discuss with your doctors EVERYTHING you take, be it vitamins or other supplements while undergoing chemo and/or radiation therapies. It is always better to err on the side of caution.. Chris

  24. Hi all I did spend several more hours looking into all the different sources of information today and yesterday. I was going to gather up all of the links etc and attempt to post them in a coherent manner (lol) but when I got reading through them, it hit me that the whole issue about the effectiveness is lost in most of those sites. Most if not all of the sites I had been able to get through were either PRO as they were written and posted by either companies trying to sell the product, or CON from the major drug companies, etc. My best advice and I am definitely no expert here. If you feel that this is something that would be beneficial, by all means, talk to your doctors first and as long as there is no medical reason to avoid it, try it! It is my understanding that the flavor is really nice and it is full of vitamins etc. I honestly believe that if you BELIEVE in something it will work and have results, sometimes above and beyond any and all expectations. Wishing you all well and hope this helps some Chris
