    Cathy R has passed

I am so sorry to hear that Cathy has lost the battle with this monster. She was a true warrior. Cathy was such a bright girl and she will be sorely missed by many. Please accept my sincere condolences for the devastating loss of your lovely daughter. Bonnie
  2. Becky and Karen, I am so very sorry to hear you have lost DavidC, I was extremely upset to hear it. He was a very special human being. He was such a fighter, and such an inspiration, and his humor was priceless. He reminded me so much of my friend who died of sclc in 09/03 in so many ways. I am sorry for his suffering and for the terrible pain he has had to endure, it breaks my heart. Thankfully at least he is free from that now. I'm sorry, I just don't know what else to say. My thoughts and prayers are with you and with little Faith, and with all the Chapman family in this difficult time. Hugs, Bonnie
  3. I cannot believe this, this is so sad. Bob was a fine person, and it is hard to grasp that yet another wonderful guy has gone. He had a great sense of humor and was so inspirational. My condolences to Bob's family. Bonnie12n

  6. Oh I am so very sorry, I am very saddened and shocked to hear this. Sam was a wonderful person and a great friend to all. He was much loved and will be sorely missed. He was always there for people who needed help, and his humor was wonderful. I can't believe this, I had always believed he would make it... This is just so sad. Bonnie
  7. Dear Cindy, I am so very sorry that you have lost your dear friend Greg. It is so hard to lose someone so dear to you. I too have lost a friend 3 months ago to sclc, and I still miss him every day. But I also have some great memories which will stay tucked away in my heart, he was such a fun person. I know you will also keep your special memories of Greg in your heart. Praying for a "cure" for cancer, that d***ned disease! Bonnie
  8. Dear Lori, I am so very sorry for your sad loss. I have no words to express how sad this makes me feel. This is very unfair. Please extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your boys.
  9. I am so sorry and saddened to hear this. He was too young. Greg was a wonderful person and a real asset to this board. He was always such an inspiration and so knowledgable, and I will miss reading his posts. My thoughts are with you, your children and your family.
  10. Kristy and Michelle, I'm so, so very sorry for your losses. Words fail me on hearing this distressing news. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you both on losing your mothers. God bless you and your families, and take care of yourselves. Bonnie
  11. Lillian, I am so sorry that you are having such pain. I loved your description about love, it is so true what you wrote... Your words are wonderful, thank you for those. I just want to tell you that you are not alone in experiencing the kind of hurt and anger you are having, caused by the indifference of doctors. Our friend was also at the receiving end of such indifference and it cost him his life too, like Johnny. He died two months ago of SCLC, after having suffered spinal chord compression. It should never have happened like that. I am quite sure there are many others where this happens, and it is very sad. I really hope you will find peace one day, and that your pain and anger will lessen in time. ((((((Lillian)))))) Bonnie

    My Dad is Gone

Joe, I am so sorry you have lost your Dad. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Do take care.
  13. Dear Kathy, I'm really so sorry about Tim. Thank you for the beautiful tribute, that was really wonderful. He must have been a very special person, and his picture is great, you must be proud! It hit a cord as Tim was the same age as my friend who passed only last month from SCLC. Thank you for sharing, and my thoughts are with you and your family.
  14. Thanks for your kind words. That's why this board is so special and why I like it so much, everyone is so compassionate and caring. Its quite unique really and its the only place like it on the internet. Yes, I will stick around for a while, how could I leave??
  15. Hi everyone, I have been lurking here for some time but have never posted yet. So I suppose this seemed like a good time. I really just want to tell you all how great you have been in helping me to put things into perspective during the last 10 months or so. I have been reading all posts for about 6 months and am greatly impressed with the positive attitudes and courage displayed here. I had a dear friend with sclc who has just died last month on 09/14. He was strong and healthy to start with and responded well to his chemo, although he obviously encountered the usual problems of fatigue and some sickness. But I have never known anyone so positive, and was sure that out of all people he was the one who could beat this monster. We all thought that, himself included. He was only 53, but unfortunately he didn't make it. He had bone mets and tragically also ended up getting spinal cord compression which made the last month of his life into a truly miserable experience. I feel that his doctors didn't help him as they were being negative and withheld important information from him, which was vital for him to make decisions about his own care and survival. I really feel he was let down which leaves me sad, angry and frustrated. Unfortunately this seems to happen all too often. I am so sad that he has died, he was such a courageous man, like so many others who have been posting here, and members of their family. I admire all you people greatly, you are such a wonderful bunch of people and I wish you all well and the very best possible outcome for you or your loved one(s). God bless you all. Warm hugs, Bonnie
