  1. My dad was diagnosed with Stage III recurrent NSCLC about 2 weeks ago. He was given little to no hope by his doctor and we were all in terrible shock. I found this site and am so grateful for all your words of encouragment and support. It has really enabled me to believe it is worth fighting this cancer stuff and never just look at statistics again. I was able to visit my dad this last week and tell him to fight. After seeing this site, I know it is worth it! He and my mom finally decided to get into Cancer Care Alliance for a second opinion on treatment, etc., and are also becoming more proactive with their current doctors on making decisions and making progress on starting treatment. I am very encouraged by this. He should start radiation by the end of this week, and chemo at the start of next week. So I know there is a tough road ahead, but he wants to take it and that is what matters! Beth
  2. Thank you all for your incredible response and support. It was exactly what I needed to hear and really put my feet back on the ground. I am so glad to have found this site. I will find out more specific details of type and stage of cancer (now that I know to ask ) and will let you know what is going on. Thanks again! Beth
  3. Hello. My dad has a very aggressive fast growing tumor on his bronchial tube right by the entrance into his lung. It is already affecting his breathing. They will begin radiation next week to try to reduce the size of the tumor before starting chemo. I am to scared to ask my dad how fast is fast? Does he have a week, a month, a year??? Can he survive? Lots and Lots of questions, but just starting here to look for some answers and hope. Bubba is the nickname my dad has called me since I was a little girl.
