  4. Andrea, Congratulations!! Those babies are lucky to have such a wonderful mom and dad who worked so hard to bring them into this world!! Can't wait to see the pics! Tammy
  5. Lori, I was asked to do a 20-30 minute presentation for a psychology teaching job on Monday and was freaking out. After reading your post, my little demo is nothing compared to the courage and fortitude it took you to get up there with all of those raw emotions and deliver two very important speeches! Good for you and thanks for knocking my anxiety down a peg! I'm sure your July 4th party will be terrific and you'll make your mom proud! Hopefully someone in the class will take your speeches to heart and make a difference elsewhere! Tammy

    The Struggle

Don, I haven't read all of the other posts so I may be repeating some of the same sentiments....The way that you and Lucie dealt with this horrible disease was truly an inspiration. You have been a great deal of support for me over the past several years. You are an amazing person and I know that you will change many lives for the better in your ministry. Take Care, Tammy

  14. Randy, LOVE the idea!!!!!!! My mom and I were just reflecting on some funny heartwarming things that have happened with our family since Lung Cancer came into our lives and we were saying that we should write a book. I will help in anyway I can. When the kiddies are quiet, I'll check out the website. Tammy
  15. So sorry you're having such a tough time....I know that I felt that way in 2005 and much better things came in 2006..I don't know why bad things happen the way they do somtimes. Hang in there, one day at a time...prayers and hugs to you.
  16. I watched most of it last night, I need to finish watching the rest. Sometimes I can only take so much "cancer" talk at one time...anyway, while I was watching it, I did relive all of the moments we have gone through with my dad over the past 5 years. Then I made a choice. I could watch it and be sad or watch it and think about my dad and what he must be and must've been feeling these past 5 years. I walked away from it feeling like I understood my father's journey so much better. Sometimes I get too caught up in feeling sorry for myself and my kids and not really thinking about what is going on in my dad's head.......He hasn't watched it yet, he asked me to tape it for him. I'm curious to see what he has to say about it.
  17. Rich, You have been a wonderful support to me throughout my dad's illness! Thanks!!!!! Like Don said, you truly are an inspiration! Tammy
  18. Dana, So, so sorry..prayers for you, your mom and the rest of your family at this difficult time. Tammy
  19. My dad only has the fatigue. It hits about 3 to 4 days after treatment and lasts about 5 or 6 days. Hope that helps!
  20. No words......just hugs and prayers Tammy
  21. Aaron, My dad has been on the Alimta since January and seems to be doing well. He does get major fatigue about 3-4 days in and it last about 4 days. Of course, over time the fatigue is a little worse but he has not lost hair. And, yes, he had to have the B12 shots and had to take the folic acid. The amount of folic acid in a multi-vitamin was not enough they made him take a supplement. If after his May scans, the cancer is no longer stable they are moving to the Gemzar I believe on its own. Hang in there, and if anyone asks why you are taking Folic Acid.......you can always tell them you're pregnant Tammy
  22. So sorry, prayers and thoughts being sent...
