BARTELME PATRICIA M. "PATTI" BARTELME, (nee Del Greco) age 59, of Parma Heights; passed away on June 7, 2011. Beloved wife of Joseph; loving mother of Nicholas; cherished daughter of Concetta and the late John Del Greco; dear sister of Rosemarie (Thomas) Wallen and Frank (Joanne) Del Greco; sister-in-law and aunt to six nieces and nephews. She treasured the love and support of many loyal friends. Patti served at the Brecksville VA Hospital for 22 years. She started working on the wards and ended her career as the secretary to the Chief of the Fiscal Service. Patti was a long-term board member of the Ridge-wood YMCA Swim Team and 2007 recipient of the Y's Volunteer-of-the-Year Triangle Award. She was also an active supporter of the Valley Forge High School Swim Team. In 2010, Patti chaired and organized a walk-a-thon at the Cleveland Zoo, the first in the Cleveland area, which raised $20,000 for the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the "Nicholas Bartelme College Trust Fund" at Dollar Bank, and can be mailed to P.O. Box 29065, Parma OH 44129. I am so sorry that Patti won/lost her lung cancer fight. I had no idea that she was not doing ok. I loved Patti's sense of humor - especiall on the "old" Tues. chat nights! What fun. Also loved her participation in the "Bus Trips" and taking all the blame for people falling off the bus. She was a true treasure. Muriel
  3. My surgeon sent me back to the pulmonologist for follow-up. He the Pulm. didn't think chemo was necessary, but suggested talking to an oncologist. Oncologists (a total of 4 since we moved a month after my second surgery) have provided follow-up since then. Did chemo a second time and have had CTs, Pets, etc since then. At the 8 year mark (from 1st Dx) I'm now have scans and seeing the Onc. once a year. If she were to say that I didn't need anymore scans, I'd freak out! Muriel
  4. Wonderful news! And, happy 8 year anniversary from another 1B Muriel
  5. Thanks for sharing the pictures. What a beautiful country. Castle and monument are interesting! Muriel
  6. So sorry that you are having all these troubles. The portable O2 problem just shouldn't be happening. Has anyone explained why you are having such trouble breathing? Is this related to your fever, etc? Hope it clears up soon. Hope you have a happier report tomorrow! Muriel
  7. Good afternoon. Hope someone is still at home to answer my question at the end of this reply. Annette, I'm sorry about your mother's heart attack and Keith's aunt. It seems as though every day has at least one crisis for you. I hope things calm down soon. Sorry you have to miss the DC trip, also. Hope Judy-at-MDA can escape soon! Now, my question. Obviously, I've missed something big. WHY ARE YOU ALL GOING TO DC? Have a good trip! Who is going? Muriel
  8. Good afternoon, everyone. We had lots of rain yesterday afternoon. Partly cloudy with an expected high of 84 today. Paulette, I loved your other post (can't remember the title) this morning. Am sending it to my cousin. Annette, I don't know how you do it either. And we have 3 sons. (None were ever in trouble with the law, however, so that made it a lot easier.) I assume that you aren't reporting some of his behaviors because of the fear that he would end up in juvenile detention (or whatever it's called) and would come of that in much worse shape than when he went in. I really don't know what I'd do in your situation. I admire you. Where is everyone?????????????? Muriel
  9. Good morning/afternoon/etc. Someone has gone crazy on our message boards. Toopsaitte or something like that has added a reply to just about every topic on the board and, to one of my favorite boards, repeated the reply - if you can call it that - 4 (that's FOUR) times. Hope someone can delete all this junk. Judy in MI: I remember bizarre weather patterns some years we lived in Kalamazoo. Spring isn't spring without rain, I think, but still it seems as tho. you have had enough. FYI: I think when you mix Labrador Retriever genes with another breed, you may very well get a dog with strong hunting instincts. Good luck. Do the squirrels have rabies? Are the puppy's immunization up to date (I'm sure they are)? In case he gets one, hope he has learned the command "drop it." Years ago, my choc. lab picked up a live small bird of some sort and didn't know what to do with it. I watched it happen and told her to drop it. She did. The bird kind of shook all over and flew away. I think Jenna was glad to be rid of it, too. KY Judy: hope your visit at the mousehouse is fun. We haven't been there for about 4 years. Which park(s) are you visiting? Enough for today - it's 1:15 here. Muriel
  10. Congratulations, Eric, on your successful career. May you have a wonderful retirement. Hope you remain more retired than my hubby. He retired from the federal government and became a college department chair. When he retired from that, he remained as an adjunct professor teaching one course a year. Retirement has been soooooooooooooooooooooo much fun. Muriel
  11. Thanks, Judy MI Several times I've tried that and couldn't find the right place. I've changed the password and will be happy for a long time, since my old one had 3 numbers and 5 letters. Muriel
  12. Very warm here in central FL, but it's still sunny. Rain later? Becky, every time I bake salmon (not often, given the price) I set off the smoke alarm in the dining room. Doesn't seem to bother the other alarm. Very annoying. The salmon never burns, though. I like the beer and brats idea! Can someone tell me how to change my password here? Thanks. Our Chicago son is visiting this week. He and Con are "doing" the Orlando outlet malls. Prediction: Con will buy almost nothing and Charles will return with jackets, shirts, etc. that won't fit into his suitcase. Good thing we're not far from the UPS store. Hope everyone is having a good day. Muriel
  13. Congratulations on your 25 years as a colon cancer survivor! SC - limited is certainly better than extensive. We have a lot of people here who have survived SCLC for quite a while. Hopefully, some of them will see your post and respond. I don't know much about small cell, as I was diagnosed with NSCLC - 8 years ago. Best wishes. I hope you like our LC support site - the people are wonderful! Muriel
  14. Good explanation, Becky. The chicken cult preceeded the "cattle for Randy," the "Randy needs a herding dog," and the "bus trip" days. I miss chat room! Muriel
  15. It's a lovely day in central FL - as are most days. Wish I could join Judy in MI for the goulash dinner. Sounds yummy. The last time I made goulash, I used way, way too much Hungarian HOT paprika and really couldn't eat it. Judy in KW - or are you still in Orlando?- hope you are feeling better soon. FYI: The chicken cult dates back to the days of Becky (Snowflake) and Ry in 2003 or 2004. Becky, please explain the cult (if it can be explained). Hope everyone has a good day. Muriel

    Kasey's test results

6 1/2 years is a very long time for someone who wasn't supposed to live more than a few months. Congratulations! Now let's hope the mamogram doesn't show anything, either. Let me rephrase that, let's hope that the mamogram is negative. Muriel
  17. It's a warm, pleasant day in central Florida, expecting a high of about 84. Just right for JudyKW, but the windows probably don't open. Sorry to hear about the hospitalization. Did I miss something? A lot, I guess. Hope everyone has a good day and that Judy can put up with the hospital. Muriel
  18. Thanks for posting the pic. Bud. Judy and Annette, you both look great. Muriel
  19. Well, Kasey could supply beverages - from the Pub. And, remind her that we drink alot! Esp. Becky. I don't know if Eric knows Patti B, but she's always fun at a party. Pastries from Randy. We have lots of talent in this group. Nice day in central Florida. High 80s with sun. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Muriel

    I'm back

Good to hear from you again. (I remember you - I joined in 2003). That's really great news, so glad you let us know. Maybe you could keep in touch a little more often? Muriel
  21. Annette, slow down on the exercise! Please don't over-do it. Sorry about the VCU loss. We lived in VA (Fairfax) for almost 20 years and I was watching the game and hoping they'd win too. Must be a very lazy day for alot of us. Muriel
  22. Interesting, Ronnie. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Of course, you're welcome to post here and anyplace else - at this site - that you wish. And people will enjoy reading your posts. Well said, Eric. Cancer is non-discriminating and so is this board. Eric, I'm sorry to hear about Sally's newest dilemna - when she hears about it. I agree that living alone in Glasgow might be good for you. Keep us posted. Judy "on the road," Carsick is not good. Hope it warms up in PA. I suppose the Pennsylvanians have the same hopes. Muriel
  23. Glad you found us. Love your posts. Muriel
