Hi law, I had my first surgery for single brain met March, 2004. Had 2nd surgery Feb 2006, one met again, same place didn't work...Just had Cyberknife (5) fractionated treatments here in California , go for MRI Nov. 13th. Odds are 100% effective 80-90% of the time. I can feel the results. As Martha would say, it's a good thing, lol. Stay positive and you will survive and prevail.. Jill, I am so sorry your mom is going through this. What city are you in and don't give up. Get a 2nd opinion. This disese is very treatable. Don't give up. That is terrible what the doctor said, in it for the money. Oh my gosh, run out of that place don't walk... Have you tried lemon in the water? It is a natural diuretic. I take Decadron and it does help. Karen

I live in California and I am voting YES on 86. The American Lung Assoc. and American Cancer Society support it. We have to START somewhere, voting it down is not a start. In fact I will be standing close to my polling place with a sign, LUNG CANCER KILLS YES on 86. If we all thought that way, where would we be. Look at our world now. WE ARE MOVING out of the super power arena because of the same old way of thinking and giving in, NO VOICE IS HEARD ANY MORE. STAND UP and FIGHT!!! Just do it, git er done... Don't mean to offend anyone, not intended for political gain. This is just my opinon.. "Gung in the Lung", It's OK cough it up if you can... Imagine your grandchildren and kids or loved one with a tobacco product hanging from their lips inhaling and slowly dying. Not meant for too many to live.We have lost toooo many already.

Hi Christina, I had surgery to remove one brain met back 2004 and stereotactic radiation for residual cells. Tumor returned Feb. 2006 along with necrosis. Removed necrosis also, successful. I just had Cyberknife 3 weeks ago to kill tumor DNA. It was very easy treatment. Had (5) fractionated treatments... I go for MRI, Nov 13th. TReatment seems to be working, no hedaches, balance is back, left leg was immobile and left hand clumsy. Go to cyberknifesupport.org/forum for more info... No frame screwed into head, had a plastic mask form fitted to face. Listed to Bon Jovi and Marvin Gay very relaxing. Treatments are very precise. Mary, When they did the radiation, did it get rid of the tumors in the brain? I had the last tumor to the brain. I just recently had Cyberknife because the surgery in Feb. was not successful. I too had a problem with my leg and falling. It has improved 100%. No mets to spine that I know of for me... On very very low dose Decadron, half mg per day... Sending you prayers and hugs, Karen

Have a SIL on Gleevac. Has been on it for 3.5 years for GIST. Gastrointestonal something. She is doing quite well.

Joe, Try vitamin B-6. If you are getting chemo now, ask your doctor first to make sure it doesn't intefere with treatment. Cetaphil lotion and cleanser is great. Make sure whatever you get, it DOESN'T contain MINERAL oil. It is very drying to your skin. Hope this helps... Karen
