Don Thank you for sharing information with us, what an inspiration. Would like to see you post more, you are always so positive... I see you had Gammaknife 3 yrs ago. May I ask how many brain mets, location and size. Everything clear since then? Did you have any side effects or memory loss? I had one met back in 2004, surgically removed then SRS. Worked for two yrs. came back Feb. 2006 surgery again didn't work so I just had Cyberknife last week. I had five fractionated treatments, it was almost 5cm in the Cerebellum area. It was on the brainstem, feeling great and glad I did this treatment. The Lord has truly blessed us and I give glory to Him. Don't stay away so long and keep sharing your valuable information. We need people to share their experiences more often. This is how we learn and get well. IF IT'S NOT SHARED NO ONE KNOWS THE NEWEST TREATMENTS. Praying for complete and successful surgery for you. Bobby, She should be able to collect State Disability at least for a year. That is what i did here in California. I believe it is available in all states. I also had Cobra insurance after I had to stop working. I did have to wait 6 months for the SSD, but I did get retroactive money FROM the date I filed. My suggestion would be she file NOW... Check out the website for SSD and state disability. Hope this helps... prayers, Karen

Rochelle, Cyberknife is the newest treatment without the frame. I know, I will have my first treatment of five this Friday, 9/22.I am going to the Cyberknife center in San Diego, CA.. I have had two real surgeries to remove one brain met each time.unsuccessful, so doing this now.I feel good about this treatment... Go to sdcyberknife.org to read up on this. You can PM me if you would like...Also go to cyberknifesupport.org/forum You can ask real doctors questions about this procedure. Don, I am saddened to read this news. Praying for comfort for you and your children... Lucie is at peace and will never feel pain again. She is resting in the arms of our Lord in Heaven. Joanie, First of all I would apply for State Disability. I collected on that for a year. Talk to your doctor, they will help with filling out your paperwork. As far as SSD, file for it and see if they approve you... I know if stage IV you autmatically receive it. Like Ry said document everything EVERYTHING. On State Disability, there is a wek's waiting period (at least in CA) Look it up on the Internet for your state. In fact I will look and see what I can find for you, I love to research. I worked in an office setting, Controller for a construction company... If they put you on leave dates MUST be correct. Was it FMLA (family medical leave of absense)leave? Dutch, Since dad doesn't want chemo, check out this website for Cyberknife...www.cyberknifesupport.org/forum They have real doctors you can ask questions and they don't do chemo. Ned, You may want to check with DR. McKenna at Cedars Siani (sp) in Los Angeles. He is one of the best thorasic Surgeons. Also you can try Cyberknife Radiosurgery. Tracy, B-6 is good for the neuropathy and my doctor decreased the strength on my Taxol...It helped and it wasn't reduced to the point of not being effective. That was almost 3yrs ago. As far as your throat, I can't help there. Check with your doctor before trying anything, don't want it to interfere with your chemo treatments.. God Bless and prayers Karen
