  1. oh, trust me..I am plenty awake when this happens. Micro Bladder won't let me sleep..niether will my two dogs when they think it's "Play with the Bear" time. Brats. David, nice shot. I can smell the doug firs from here!
  2. Well, not hiding, really, just busy with the holiday and new projects. Just wanted to check in and say HI, I have been lurking, but not real talkative. I get that way..a born hermit to a certain degree. I am keeping track of all the news, lurking and checking. I am happy you all are doing well, and not so happy about some of the recent turns. I am doing great , just in the middle of the period between check ups etc. and have absolutely nothing to report on. I selfishly like it this way. I met karen335 a couple of weeks ago. She does a mean lunch! She looks great and I am jealous of her "camping" trailer! It's a million feet long and makes my little 6 ft pop up look like a toy! Sheez! Yeah Babe, I'll be thinking of you and your satelite dish and running water while I am trying to light my coleman lantern at 3 am so I can trip my way to the pit toilet..if there even IS one! Anyway..it's not fair to just check in to whine, so I am sayin' "Hi Ya!" Whats the poop?
  3. Wishing you the best! Since you have done this once before..will you be giving instructions pre op? You will do fine! I know it's hard to not be nervous about this, but you know it can work out great..and with your strength, i know it will!
  4. WOW! I don't feel so alone anymore! I only had a lobe (And I found out later part of the lobe above it) removed and my burpies started as soon as I was eating regular food again. My last ct showed my esophogas had shifted and the docs think this is the cause. Oddly, I am the first time they have seen this. With all your posts about it, this suprises me now. I was given Nexium "The Purple Pill" and it works very well. I only use them on occasion tho. It seems to be getting better.
  5. Yes, thank you. I am fine, just a bit behind and tired from my "suprise" extended vacation. trying to catch up with work things, clean up after the trip and a bunch of giant water dumps on the old house. No complaints, thats what saved it! I do not have a lot of time at home these days as the hiway is down to one lane and I spend most of my awake "off" time driving... ugh..my car is still new, but I am getting a little sick of it Hope you all are doing OK. Fay, your new pic is a definate "Webshot" gallery picture. I do photography as a hobby (Used to for a living) and that pic says SOOOO much. Very well done. I left a message for you Karen..did you get it? I know you said you were doing chemo last week. I was in to see Chuck and hoping I might see you there! I don't know what you look like tho!
  6. Thank you for your well wishes! Karen, I got your message on my work phone today and have not yet had a chance to repond. My animals were rescued and I did get them back tonite, I am so happy for good nieghbors! I was very lucky in that I was on the road returning from vacationing in Portland Oregon when the fires broke out. My employers and docs called me and told me to stay away from the LA area until the smoke cleared as it was not safe for me here. Very kind of them. I was on my way back home when the evacuation started, so I was locked out of the area anyway. I had my camping trailer with me, so I lived on the road for the past week and a half until we were allowed back up the hill yesterday. I got home last nite. I drove back roads to Phoenix to stay away from LA..and trust me..when you want to get to Phoenix from Oregon, you can't get there from here! My home was saved, as were most of the homes in the "downtown" Crestline area. I was told on Sunday the 26th that my home was destroyed and I was under that impression for two whole days. The media seemed to perpetuate that rumour as well. Then I found out that that info was incorrect. The joy one feels after that kind of news reversal is undiscribable. I only suffered water damage from the plane and copter water dumps. It looks like a bomb went off up here. The outlying homes on the rim and down by the Big Lake (Silverwood) were not. My heart goes out to all these homeless folks here. Lots are living on the hillside in trailers and even some are in tents. It's danged cold up here. I have never seen anything like this. I feel for those of you that had to tolerate the smoke, I understand it was horrible. Go to your docs and get checked asap..but you don't need me to tell you that. Thank you again for these kind wishes. People can be very kind in these emergencies. All is OK and life goes on. this photo was taken about 4 blocks from my house. I think I would have choked if I was here! http://www.fireupdate.com/images/crestline.jpg

    Recurrence

I don't know for sure abou IIs. I am a 1a. My onc told me that the first 2 years were the most critical and reoccurance, if it was going to happen, would most likely happen during that time. It can still happen after, but the stats drop down quite a bit. So I guess, if he is correct, that you can breath alittle easier now (Excuse the pun!) but don't let your guard down just yet. Another II might be able to help you here..the time frame is probably different for a more progressed stage.

    I made it

WOOO HOO! You give the rest of us such hopes with this! Doesn't this make you officially CURED, instead of in remission???? Oh what a wonderful thought..I know you are floating sky high right now! Do you mind if I ask what your treatment was..it doesn't say in your signature.
  9. Connie..youtake as much time as you need! and David...geta haircut, you are looking a bit hippyish there...

    Catfish

How about some soup?????? Even if this thing takes me at an early age, I will still be grateful for the new gift and insite it has given me about the simple things in life. A CATFISH..look at the pleasure derived from that! A catfish. A river, a Fall day, a SPRING day..even a blasted snow storm..all of it is good. "Enjoy Every Sandwich"..and let the gourmets THINK they are having fun. Just nod and smile..you are way far ahead of them.
  11. I am thinking about David in as a cheerleader.. Oh la la! "Com' 'ere Baby..I gots some candy for you!" Judy, you are a fighter! Thats a TON to go through! Keep that humour..and I am jealous of all the "synthetic relaxation" you get to have! Dilaudid...they gave my 1 shot of that when my chest tube was rubbing against my rib! I didn't care if it rubbed through a rib and re inserted itself somewhere else after that! Glad you are back posting, your humour is wacked! I like it!

    New Pic

    You look great!
  13. Thank you again everyone! You are all such an inspiration..and FIGHTERS! karen335 ~ It's a small world! Jhangiani is my onc, tho I have been getting Wetter the past couple times, and I have seen Reyes too for some, er, boob issues and Yang is my pulminologist too! My GP is Jasmine Leong, the sharp radiologist at CRegional is James Tagle. I think we have a really good team! Even if it is podunk stinky Corona! Hope your little stay at Corona Regional was successful and you are done with them! Lunch is good! Been to the Panda Buffet on 6th yet?..great food and perfect for those on a cancer or Fender budget! I will PM you!
  14. I too, am in great awe when I see a couple sticking by each other at these frightening times. They have raised a good child tho, and I wish all the strength you will need to get through this double battle. It sounds like you have it in you, but I know it will be hard. My heart goes out to you, and your lovely parents. I hope Don comes in here to give you some words of encouragement about Dad condition. I personally know of SO many men that are still here after DX a very long time ago.

    Update on Lucie

as kids, we strive so hard to be "not normal"..ain't it funny how the priorities change?..for the better! Sunny and happy days for a long time to you two!
  16. Thanks! I am so happy I could just..well..never mind I think the cyst is a good sign actually. I had forgotten it was there. It has bothered me off and on for over 20 years, but hasn't in awhile. It was originally found when I had my cervical cancer. (Which after 20 years, I am still clean of..think I need to worry anymore?) It is a good sign meaning the radiologist caught it, which means it is unlikely he missed anything in my lung, if it presented itself. The cyst is small be LC standards. I believe this same radiologist originally caught the lung nodule. He reported the nodule as 1cm, but when it came out, it only measured 8/10ths of a cm. I think this guy is pretty danged good, and I will do everything I can to have my tests run at Corona Regional in Corona California. Hope he works there for awhile.
  17. Thanks for all you are doing David!
  18. Haven't even told my Mom yet! Got my first CT scan results back from my 6 month check up after surgery. The radiologist says I am boring..NED! NED! NED! Nothing unusual (Cept for my staples) or suspicious anywhere else..had the full body thingy done. Oh..wait..there is a 12mm cycst on one of my ovaries..been there for years. I am not using those anymore anyway I am going to go change my underwear right now! I was just a bit happy to find this out.

    Scan results

'dems is 3 danged good letters, eh? CONGRATS..amazing..stg 4 to NED..what a trooper!
  20. Thanks everyone! Your encouragement and honest responses helped me get through this a lot better than if I was "all alone". Check the Good News forum!
  21. Fay! I was not offended at all. I thought it was funny the way you put it in your title! Worry not. I am not familiar with how the brain mets work, so I apologise if I inedvertantly made a bad joke myself without understanding what you were saying.
  22. Oh geez. That was only sunday. I am SO sorry.
  23. > grateful that I can do all of the above!!! The guy that did the scans kept apologising for me having to lay there for so long. I told him "It sure beats laying in a casket". He hadn't thought about it from that angle. I also told him I wished I knew who the radiologist that spotted that minature nodule was, because he probably saved my life. The guy said they never here "Thank Yous", only lawsuits and that he would find out who it was and be sure to pass my message along. I hope he does..I want to give the rad. a hug. Even if he reported bad news, he still kept me from hearing worse later down the road. LOL on the car! I already did JUST that, in July, with the 60 mo. financing 2003 Honda Element. And I bought a little travel trailer to tow behind it. I want to RV around the country when I retire..I am just starting it a little early!
  24. OK..I fell for it! Why I oughtta.... Go to your room! Glad it didn't show the bad thing..
