My Dad had a similar chat with his Onc - they said that he had prob had it for well over 2 yrs - he has squamous cell too.

My Dad gets hiccups occassionally and it gets so bad that it disturbs his sleeping. He gets meds from Onc when they start up (some sort of anti-phsycosis med !!)- they dont know what causes Dads tho, other than to say 'it sometimes happens when someone has LC'. His get worse when he is on steroids and after chemo.

Yes have asked the good Doc and waiting for his advice, he is fab and has been a great help to me - we cant phone Dads Onc until tuesday as it is a Bank Holiday here on Monday !!! They called the GP out and he said it was just congestion from a cold !!

Dads not suffering too badly with his eyes its just not nice to see them swollen and constantly running !His rash has suddenly flared up too.

[Flights with Lung Cancer]

My Dad has flown many times whilst undergoing treatment.Long journeys tire him so we tend to take him on shorter trips but after a good sleep he is ok. The sun gives him a boost he says after the terrible rainy summer we have had in UK ! He doesnt sit directly in the sun as he is on Tarceva and his skin is super-sensitive and burns easily since he has been on it.

If your Mum's Dr has OK'd and your Mum feels up to it then go for it and have a fab time.
