  1. Hi! My Dad has SCLC limited and is doing great. Stay positive and if you ever want to talk, just e-mail me!
  2. I am a caregiver, and feel badly that you have felt this way. I can only imagine what you have been through and know that I am here if you need to talk. I don't know the circumstances, but will be here.
  3. ((((((((sorry))))))))) You have been an incredible daughter as I have read through everything you have gone through with her. Know that she will always remain in your heart and live on through you and your children!
  4. I am so sorry for the hurt you must be feeling and know that she lives on within you. I will pray for you and your family during this time.
  5. Hi Cheryl, My Dad also had SCLC and was diagnosed in December 2006. He is done with all his treatment including Brain Radiation as preventative method and is doing great. The tumor is gone and has just gone for follow up scans. Stay positive, and everyone here is so incredibly helpful. Anything I can ever help with, let me know!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family right now. God Bless!
  7. What an inspiration you are to all who have SCLC. My dad is limited and was diagnosed in December. Has gone through all his treatments and is going for new body scans on Monday. Hearing this news is incredibly inspirational. Best of luck to you always.
  8. Flowergirlie, my thoughts are with you! Oh, I just can feel so much for what you must be going through!
  9. Oh Rhonda, I don't live with my Dad but so understand how it hurts inside and really, you want only the best for your mom. Maybe you can just ask her, "what do you want mom", what can I do to help. Maybe take a ride to a park with her, or just get away near an ocean with her. Sometimes, getting away can help. My thoughts are with you!
  10. Hi! I can only imagine what you are going through. My Dad has Limited SCLC and you worry about every pain. Please be insistant with the Oncologist/Physician that you want a test done. This will be a comfort than to know what is going on. I do think the sore scalp is probably from the chemo, as my Dad had that a little bit. I wish you the best luck!
  11. Well, my Dad was at the ears, nose and throat specialist today and it is called Black Hair Tongue. This was caused from the PCI he had done. Just an FYI, in case anyone else ever gets asked about this. It can last up to a year! Just glad my Dad is really o.k. Thanks so much!
  12. Definitely - a bud light and choclate donut. To Frank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hi all, Didn't know if anyone could give me input on this. My Dad (SCLC) has been done with chemo for 2 months and just finishes his brain radiation (PCI) two weeks ago. He still has a horrible tase in his mouth and the light green coating. He was really in a panic this week as he thought it may have gone to his brain. I think I calmed him down and he is going to the oncologist this morning at 11:00 a.m. Has anyone had experience with this? I did check on line and found out that sometimes the Ambien which he takes can give that metallic taste in the mouth. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks so much!
  14. My Dad had flu like symptoms when his sodium count was low from the tumor in his lung. It really made him very lethargic and weak. Make sure you get his sodium level checked. Best wishes and many prayers!
  15. My Dad has not needed a transfusion. But I wish him all the best and send many prayers your way!

    Prayers for him!!!!!!!!
  19. Don, thanks so much for your input. I figured it was from all the meds. He is using plastic utensils. Hopefully in time this will subside. Thanks again!
  20. I am so glad you posted this! I have gotten comments too from people about my Dad having SCLC and about smoking. Do people really think that should make it mean it is o.k. for him to have this. Does this mean he is less of a person? Do they know what a good dad he is? How much he is loved? Another point people should always ask themselves, how would I feel if someone would ask me what I am considering possibly to say? Thank you!
  21. Hi, I am so sorry you have deal with this. Is there nobody out there with him? I can't imagine not having someone there while you are going through that. Could he come near you? My parents are far from me, and my Dad has SCLC, but I have a sister out with them also. Make sure that he has a Big University hospital he is dealing with so that you get the best care!
  22. Thinking of you during this rough time and pray for you. Congrats on your new precious angel!
  23. What you have been through, oh my heart aches for you and yet you reach out your heart to others when they need it through these message boards. Time heals, but it takes soooo much time and cry when you need to, and pray, and let it happen. ((((())))))))
