  1. My name is Lori, i found your web site last year, posted once didnt do it right so i am trying again because i need your help & advise. im not quite sure how to do the profile so ill just say whats happened to me. On may 24th 2007 i was diag. with stage 1-A nsclc adnocarcinoma. Had my upper & middle right lung removed, all went well healled fairly quickly. no chemo or radiation afterwards my Doc said i didnt need it. then on may 11th 2008 almost a year later i coughed & thought i brike a rib, went to ER. found out my cancer was back in my 6th rib bone a 4.5cm tumor in my right hiler area & in the musscle in my left back. I did 16 radiation treatments & 3 treatments of carbo/taxol, Avastin & zometa. I have 3 more treatments left. My last cat scan 9-5-08 showed "no change" scince my prior cat scan. The 1st treatment wasnt too bad, the 2nd one i was sick for three weeks inbetween treatments. & this 3d treatment i was sick fir 6 days, so sick i couldnt even get out of bed vometing, chills, massive hot sweats, headache, week ,just plain awfull...My neighbor told me about this stuff called colloidal silver ive been taking it scince the third treatment & i feel soooo much better, my DR however said absoulety not dont take it because it hasnt been proven to help & she didnt want it to interfer with my treatment. Has anybody else tried this stuff??? is there any sucess stories out there in my same position??? If so i woulod like to hear from you. I hope i did this right if not you can respond to lorisherley@yahoo.com
  2. Hi this is Lori again; I want to thank everybody for there responses to my message the other day, all of you had the same response "GET ANOTHER ONCOLOGYST" what i didn't mention is i am on Clark Co social services, medicade denied me last year when i applied to social security. My job dosn't offer health insurance & i can't afford it, i have reapplied for medicade but that takes 4-6 months to be approved, so in the mean while i have to see the county oncologyst. I did find out that Dr. Ellerton the only oncologyst last year dosn't work there anymore so i will be seeing a different Dr. today. I wish now that i have read some of your stories that i would have done chemo after surgery, but i trusted my Dr when he said he got enough good tissue around the 2.5 tumor, they removed both lobes because the tumor was in between both lobes, also DR. Ellerton was my boyfriends lymphoma Dr. & he's been in remission for 3 yrs. Well it's only 8am my Dr. appt isn't till 4pm. so it's going to be a long day. It's sooooo good to come to a place where everybody is familier. (they dont have a lung cancer support group here in Las Vegas) I go to my boyfriends lymphoma support group once a month, but it's not the same, a stage 4 lymphoma & a stage 4 lung cancer are not the same. Thanks for listening to me & thank you for your responses i will update after i get back from the Dr. today. Lori Sherley
  3. Hi my name is Lori i had a bi-lobectomy on 7-10-07 my DR. said he got enough good tisue that i didn"t need chemo or radiation, he said i didn"t even need a cat scan in 6 months, said this kind of cancer never comes back. Every thing went smoothly (surgery-recovery)except a little back pain that i thought was just recovering it's only been 10 Mo. Then on Sunday i coughed & it felt like i broke a rib. i went ot the emergency room & they did an exray a cat csan & some blood work & refered me back to my oncologyst. My xray showed i"m missing part of my rib bone my cat scan showed a mass associated with rib destruction in the posteroir right thorax suggestive of metastic disease to the rib also small enhancing lesions seen in the liver too small to characterize. I am really scared it dosn"t sound good not to mention the fact that i am in a lot of pain. I have an Appt with my oncologst next week but that sounds a looooong time to wait. Has anybody else experienced this the cancer coming back to that extent in only 10 Mo??? i was staged as a 1-A in July when i had my surgery. Thanks, any response will help. Lori
