  1. I never need a test like that to show my true colors. I order from a catalog and they ask address? I give them my street name and they say, "and where in NY is that?" I respond, how did you know I'm in NY, they just laugh. Hummmmmmmmm

True story, 30 yrs. ago I was working in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. an EMT comes into the ER and asks , "are you Marry?" I sais no, and smiled , he frowned and walked away. Turns out he wanted to know if I was Mary, and wanted to ask me out:(. Yet another one that got away!!

    Great fun, Mary

Go job, you all made it through  . Next? Dont sit and wait, celebrate! As Ned mentioned, profiles are a great tool. My Dr. told me back in June the 1st "scan" post Tx will have sludge and residue, he does not really taks a lot of stock in that one. It takes time for the body to readjust after "returning from war". Tell your dad, to listen to his body, it wont lie to him. Take it easy, In the words of Jimmy Buffetts new CD... breath in breath out and move on! Please keep us posted.

  3. Cynthia~

You mentioned your Mom has a neighbor she shares her medical conditions with. Could it be ( I'm just throwing this out there) she considers this gal a BFF? Can you keep in touch w/ her local friends in her community? Her roots are probbaly there I suspect. It's a tough spot to be in I'll give you that. keep posting please to let us know how you are doing. Mary

  4. Ken~

I was scheduled for a RLL lobectomy, last June, they found to much involvment during the procedure, stopped after the Bronch, staged IIIB. THAT was a bummer. My profile shares the decisions we made. I feel great,7months later. I now believe my return to work last Oct. was a little premature even for this super hero. My quality of life is good, I'm on no meds.Know the "stats" that are avaliable now are 3-4 years old as that is how long studies take to be published. Dr. West is an excellent resource. Please keep us posted, sending prayers to you and your family. Mary

You go girl! You stop by here anytime you need to. I find I have bursts of excess too, just trying to get my "ducks in a row", usually I'm trying to get some one elses ducks in a row is the truth.

Caregivers in general suffer a stress level of high intensity, please dont ignore or poo-pa your role and the toll it is taking on you. Take Xanax, it's a great med and will drop the audio level pitch to your aunts b_itch, down a few notches. Sounds like she has a few ducks she needs to get in a row and is passing that guilt? on to you. Stay strong, visit often. Mary

  6. Hi All~

My name is Mary and my husbands name is Jerry ( kinda makes me want to break out in song!) We have 3 fabulous boys who are a constant source of pride and joy, Brad 25, Gerard 21, Daniel 18. All doing well at the game of life.

Jerry is a retired conductor from the LIRR after 32 yrs. He is a stage III prostate Ca. suvivor! Thank the Lord as I need him now.

I am a Registared Nurse here in West Islip, Long Island. I work in the same day surgery unit, but of recent, am "semi-retired". That is very frustrating.

I finished my Tx's for IIIB in Sept, so I just hang out waiting for my neuroapathy to pan out.

Our plan now,( all the boys are out of the house at this point) is to be the best darn house guests anywhere we are invited! All those "you really must come visits" over the years that we were to busy to entertain...Here we go!

Blessing to all on this site who bring me great info, and much hope. Mary oxxoxxxo

I am a IIIB'er also, and this summer seemed just not doable many days. I read a book by Bill Henderson, Your Guide to Gentle, Non-toxic Healing. I am presently on 20 Green Supreme tabs. a day. Barley in high doses will put ypur body in an alkaline state and Ca can not survive in that enviorment.

Congrats on the new addition to the Family~ DAD!

Hang in there, please keep us posted. Prayers out to your wife too to keep her strength.

  8. Hi All! On the topic of STUPID,I went back to work last month and it was horrible, it set off leg pain I cant tell you about, I crawled through a few days and am back out. My MIL says, "thats fine if you can afford it" ! I think my reaction made her wish she had never said it. I find comfort in thinking she cares to much and the set back hurt to much, they just dont know what to say. Foot in mouth disease. As for the did she smoke? Duhhh I have worked w/ surgeons in the OR in the 80'S that smoked in the OR!They dont ask fat people, does she eat donuts? urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, that felt good. Mary

  9. I did not find butt pain such a problem, but I was reading Mikes profile, I have just been given LYRICA for neuropathy. I didnt fill thr RX yet but the pain in my legs put me back out of work :(. It feels like I'm walking on rocks all the time. Has anyone tried LYRICA? and........does it work? Hope this note finds everyone relaxing after lots of Turkey. Mary

  10. I have very fair Irish skin. I did 36 Tx's with 11 hits each Tx, scarce to no skin changes!? I never really used the eucerin they suggested. The swollowing thing is a bummer for 3-6 weeks, no bubbles (beer  ). Alls back to good now! Get the couch comfy and ride it out, it feels good when its completed. Mary

  11. Hello All~

There is a lot of talk about work as I visited tonight. I feel terrible about Mary Colleens hubby. I too, went back to work 2 wks. ago. We decided I would start back 3 days a week. The 1st week I made it 2 out of 3 days, last week, all 3. This week I am sooooooooo shot :(.

It's not all about the $$$all the time, It's MY JOB I own it, I earned it, I want it!! Is there an icon for stamping your feet up and down?

My team is very cautious,(because they care) that is uncomfortable for me.

1/2 the time I feel screw the job, I'm alive. The other 1/2 of the time, I say, it's my job, and I'm going to do it!

What ever the new normal is I pray it kicks in soon!

    Mary
