  1. I went to this company's website (http://natcopharma.co.in/) and did not find any news related. So I sent an email to the company, hope someone can answer my question.
  2. It is called Gefitinat, see details: http://www.financialexpress.com/fe_full ... t_id=54283
  3. My daddy started to take Iressa about two weeks ago. He said it makes him very tired and loss of appetite. Is this common for taking Iressa? Also he has numbness in his fingers and toes, any idea to reduce these symptoms? thanks, june
  4. I did check the price through google, but found iressa is not cheap in Canada either. The cheapest one I got is from drugstore.com, 250 mg X 30 is $1708.
  5. We will try to put our daddy on Iressa, but I have two questions: 1) His oncologist told me that patients with bone mets. did not response well. I know not everyone response to Iressa, but do people with bone mets have worse response to iressa? 2) My daddy does not have insurance, so we are going to pay it ourselves, I compared the price through online search, found it is a little bit cheaper if we order through online pharmacy. But I heard it is not safe or good doing that? If not, can you tell me which pharmacy will have better deal? thanks, June
  6. My neighbour had a pet scan last week, and there was a spot on her left lung, so she had biopsy this Monday. I met her husband last night, he told me they did not find cancer cell in the tissue that they got. My neighbour had a Chest X-ray 6 wks ago, they found a big spot on her left lung. She had a CAT scan immediately, the CAT scan showed a mass on her left side. She went to MD Anderson for further diagnosis, they did biopsy, and did not find any cancer cell. So she had Pet Scan and biopsy again. After two biopsy with both negative results, I believe she did not get LC. I think PET Scan sometimes does show the false result.
  7. Don: I am so glad that Lucie is getting better. May God Bless both of you! June

    CAT scan result

After three rounds of chemo therapy (Taxol/cisplatin), my dad had a CAT scan last Wednesday. The result was very promising. His primary spot on his right middle lung has shrunk, and some small spots were gone. The fluid in his right side was absorbed. His oncologist was very excited about the results. My daddy will start his fourth round today, he probably needs two more chemo. Also the spot on his scalp has shrunk too. His overall condition is good, his appetitie is good, and he does morning exercises, tolerates well. It has been a tough time for me and my family, last night I finally had a good sleep. I thank you for all the supports from you, and I will continue to post my daddy's condition. Just as my mom said "God did listen to me, and God did answer me". thank you again!
  9. Michelle: Feel so sorry to hear this news. I know you are suffering from a big loss now. Please take good care of yourself! June
  10. Don: Take good care of Lucie and yourself. I am sure Lucie will get better soon. June
  11. Don and Lucy: It is really a good news. I am so happy for both of you. I told my parents that I joined this group, and encouraged them to fight LC. My daddy is currently taking his third round chemo with Taxol/Cisplatin, he will have a CAT Scan on Aug. 13th. I am crossing my fingers now. June

    numbness

My daddy had the same problem after he had the first chemo, and the doctor said it was caused by Taxol. I called one of my friends who is a research nurse in M.D. Anderson, she told me if the numbness is severe, you can ask doctor to prescribe 'neurotin' for you. I asked my daddy if he would like to try, but he said the numbness is slight, he would like to wait to see.
  13. John: Thanks for your efforts to find others' opion on Sun Soup. I actually read those two articles, but did not save the link. My daddy is currently on the Chemo and the Soup, he is doing OK. The biggest tumor on his scalp is shrinking by half size, and two small one have gone. But he still got three or four small sites on the skin of his neck. We don't know his lung's condition now, he is going to have his third round of chemo next Wednesday. And after that, he will have CT scan again. The price for the Sun Soup is: $650/month + $30 shipping fee (this is for dry soup) $600/month + $30 shipping fee (this is for the liquid soup) I was told if I order next time, I can get some discount, though I don't know how much they will give me. I was struggling for long time to decide if I would buy or not. There are so many alternative treatments, don't know which one to choose. And Sun Soup is extremely expensive. Finally, I said, "Well, just give him a try!". I will continue to post my daddy's condition.
  14. Also I found one in NIH CAM site: http://nccam.nih.gov/about/advisory/cap ... y.html#p10 It was 1999 meeting, I think Dr. Sun made a speech.
  15. Hello, everyone: I just found out this site yesterday, and truely loved it! My daddy who is 66yrs old was diagnosed NSCLC, stage IV in June 2003. He was visiting us for our new born baby from China during that time. He found there was an ulcer on the skin of his head while he was taking a show one day, and the ulcer did not heal for about one month. First, we thought it was a bad infection (even the doctor), but later on as the thing was still going worse, I asked the doctor to do a biopsy for him. And it turned out it is Adenocarcinoma, we were told 99% it was met. (sorry, I can never spell it right) from other organs, like Lung, Kidney, Stomach etc. So my parents had to go back to china, coz my daddy did not have health insurance here, even I knew if I could get him in MD Anderson here in houston, he could get the best treatment. After he arrived in Shanghai, China, he went to the Cancer Center there, and was diagnosed as Lung Cancer, Stage IV. I was devastating, my daddy looks so normal, his overall condition is so good, he never smokes, he joggle 2 miles/day, sometimes running. He does not have any symptoms, like breathing problems. How could he get this disease? And is in later stage? And only have 12 - 18 month to live even with the chemo? Anyway, he started the chemo in June 20th with Taxol and ? (I don't know the other chemo drug's name in english), again chemo in July 10th. His general condition does not change much, the one on his head did shrink half size, but we don't know his lung's condition yet. We kept praying for him, hope he will get better. I just found this website yesterday, and was very impressed. Hope I can share the information with you, and get some encouragement to cope the lung cancer. June
  16. Sorry, I was in a hurry this morning, so I did search for Sun's soup through google, and paste the web address. The same article you can find at: http://www.cancer.gov/cancerinfo/pdq/ca ... ofessional I also found an abstract in PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/quer ... t=Abstract I was hesitated to buy the soup, coz it is very expensive. But my daddy really does not have much choice, besides the chemo, what else can we choose? Even with the chemo, the doctor said he probably only has 12 - 18 month to live.
  17. Christina: I was looking for alternative treatment for my daddy who just diagnosed Lung Cancer, NSCLC, stage IV in June, 2003. And found Dr. Sun's Selected Vegetable Soup. I found one review paper for Dr. Sun's soup on National Cancer Institution's website, here is the link: http://www.meb.uni-bonn.de/cancer.gov/C ... 85728.html I contacted Sun Farmer Corp. which is established by Dr. Sun, and got some material from them. My daddy started to take the soup about twenty days ago, at the main time, he is taking the chemo. He finished his second rounds about 11 days ago. I can hardly tell the effect of the soup now, they told me it usually takes about 3 - 6 month to see the results. But since my daddy is also taking the chemo, it is really hard to say which one is more effective. Dr. Sun's soup is pretty expensive, about 600/per month. But if you can afford it, it is no harm to just give Chris a try. The website for Dr. Sun's soup is: http://www.sunfarmcorp.com June
