  1. I've always loved that song. It's a hard day here too.
  2. Thanks Christine-- that was very sweet. Of course we don't always get along-- we're family! We wouldn't be a family if we didn't have our black sheep and crazy aunts. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. Rochelle
  3. We're having the green bean casserole, a corn casserole which is similar to Muriel's scalloped corn but you add some muffin mix (it's from the LCSC cookbook), and mashed potatoes.

    Thanksgiving

    That is hilarious!
  5. I am so glad you see you on. I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you were doing. The holidays are hard, just do what you are up to and let the rest go.
  6. JB- Here's my helpful hint: Measure the oil to account for the turkey being dropped in-- you don't want the hot oil to go over the side of the pot once the bird is placed in the oil -- AND keep it away from the house. My FIL was great at turkey frying mistakes. When I was a kid we went to my aunts for Thanksgiving and she served the turkey undercooked. After that when something came up about my aunt my dad would always say "what do you expect from someone that serves raw turkey!"

    Baby Update

    Congratulations on the new baby.
  13. Very nice! I hope you had a great visit.
  14. I am so glad to read this. Iressa worked wonders for John and I regretted switching to Tarceva. I always wondered if we should have stayed on the Iressa until it stopped working instead of switching due to one study (which appears to be flawed).

    This long year

It's hard to believe it's a year for you already. I hope the day went as well as could be expected. My thoughts are with you. Rochelle
  17. I am always playing match maker-- I have had one couple I introduced get married.
  18. There is a very rare side effect to Tarceva that can damage the eyes (the name of the condition escapes me right now)-- but he really needs to be seen by an eye specialist to make sure he doesn't have that because the damage can be permanent.

    OOOh Patti B!!!!

    Happy 22!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. It's not overreacting-- a bowel impaction can be fatal very quickly. If the stool is impacted she's gong to need to go to the ER. The best thing to work quickly is a "mom bomb" which is milk of magnesia and warm prune juice. If the enemas are not working she should go get some help removing the stool. Once this is over make sure she starts using some natural means to keep her bowels moving like prune juice, apple juice, bran, and lots of fluids. Let us know how she does. Welcome to the board. Rochelle
  21. I decided this article was best for this forum as it is about surviving and helping your body heal itself. I found it very interesting and just sent it off to a friend in treatment. http://www.aarpmagazine.org/health/super_healing.html
  22. Sue- I am glad your mom is on her way to regaining her health. She is one tough cookie to go through everything she has been through at her age. Sending you good thoughts and wishes.
  23. I am glad you are doing the research for her. There are several people here that have had cyber knife, one being Don M. You can search his posts or search cyber knife for more information from the board. She really needs a second opinion. She is young and she can survive this disease if she gets the right treatment. Keep us posted on how she does.
