  1. I know its so hard to see them suffer and change...my mom had stage IV that spread to the brain....with her it was 2 and a half months from beginning to end...in the beginning she did good with chemo and radiation...then in a matter of a week she she swelled up and was not herself....I know its hard to see her like that but just being there for her means so much....I use to read to my mom, and sometimes just hold her hand and pray to God to give me strength...I kept myself so busy reembering her meds, finding out everything I could about lc, and the people here are wonderful and have experienced so many things with lc...If I could helpanswer any questions for you let me know... Your not alone.....My prayers are with you......
  2. In my moms situation she had so many other things wrong with her before she was diagnosed with nsclc the last 6 weeks she was in hospice care...They treated her so well and were so good to all of us...we all took turns round the clock staying with her...we were able to come and go at any time...the time we were with her we were there enjoying any and all time we had with her without worrying about anything else but her....we had 15 people in her room at one time...other times it was just one on one...I know its not for everyone but it was nice not worrying about anything else but her.... My faith in God is what kept and keeps me going.. my prayers are with you.....

  6. My mom was diagnosed with stage IV lc oct.2006 and passed away jan 7th 07...2 1/2 months from beginning to end....I did every research I could think of, every doc. visit, chemo, radiation etc..with my mom....My mom was always sick with one thing or another tons of x-rays done etc... I was like how did this happen and not seen earleir....I found out...LC is the # 1 killer of all cancers combined.....most goes undected until its found in later stages...because it does not always show up in a xray or even a cat scan....alot of times its found through a petscan because insurances wont cover a petscan unless they detect something.....but mamagrams are done all the time, and alot of places will do mamagrams free.....mamagrams have saved so many people....wht dont they do yearly petscans if it means they could save so many people..... It may have been too late for my mom, but trying to find out these answers I fell like I'm fighting for my mom or standing up for her...... Thanks, Laura ( sorry for the ranting)
