  1. Before I had a lobectomy 2 years ago, I had never had a heartburn. Now I have to take medication daily for acid reflux. Like you, I have no idea what is causing it.
  2. Hey Denise let's hope Tom is just all wired up and we will celebrate !
  3. Well Judy our temperatures have gone the other way. We had snow here yesterday. October 7th !!!!! Hopefully it doesn't stay around this early but who know's. Going to the farm tomorrow for the Thanksgiving weekend. Took today off work as well to get everything picked up and trailer loaded.
  4. Tami let me be the first to welcome you to this great site but sorry you had to be here. You will find members here very supportive with a great deal of knowledge and experience dealing with this terrible disease. There are plenty of good news stories here and it is great you have that positive attitude.
  5. I just celebrated my 2 year anniversary since my lobectomy. Staged 1b and I followed up the surgery with 4 rounds of adjuvant chemo. I wanted to wait until after I got my results today to post here. Didn't want to jinx anything. Annette and Debi I can also relate to all those ache and pain phantom mets. I can certainly remember a toe cancer I was sure I had. My mother and Brother both passed away from cancer. For me, if I get a pain in my big toe, I'm sure one of them had a pain in their big toe before they passed away. Not sure if those thoughts will ever go away.... but I sure hope so. I certainly enjoy every day more now than I had before.

    Test results

I was debating on posting my results because sometimes you feel guilty about being found early while other's are not as fortunate. But I thought a little good news might be OK this week. I got my results today for my chest x-ray and abdomen ultrasound. Everything is clear with no sign of recurrence. NED This was my 2nd anniversary test so now I graduate to 6 month testing for the next 3 years.
  7. I had a similar story. Had chest pain which they thought was the heart. One of the test I had was a chest x-ray where they found the spot on my lung. They told me that would not have caused the pain. Had surgery and upper left lobe removed. Had a number of heart test since including stress, mibby, etc. No problem with the heart and they could not find the cause for the pain.
  8. Patti you know I think the world of you girl and you are nothing short of a hero in my eyes. You deal with everything going on in your own life but still give so unselfishly your support and friendship to so many of us here on this site. Your friends here will celebrate with you on your anniversary as we will next year and the year after that.

    Sandra

Sandra and I joined this site at the same time. We connected maybe because we were new to this journey and Canadians. Over the last 2 years, we became good friends and talked often. We leaned on each other to cheer each other up if one was feeling down. We always talked about other members that would get together in person and how nice that must be. To meet people in person that were going through the same journey, that you had gotten to know here. We talked about having lunch together and a get together for Canadian members. Sandra would always say that she didn't want the first time we met to be in heaven. I am sure she is there now looking down on all of us. Miss you Prairie girl.
  10. Judy I can understand why you are not the navigator........you see everything double. LOL Now the duplicate post is gone so no one else will get this at all. LOL
  11. Thanks everyone. Appreciate the well wishes. Patti it was 28 !!! Michelle...maybe I did Kasey it is a great thing to celebrate.
  12. Judy we are not that familiar with hurricanes in my neck of the woods but they are getting more common. My family in Newfoundland had to deal with hurricane Bill last weekend and are getting hit today by hurricane Danny. Sounds like you are going to have a busy day with family and their kids.
  13. Be careful Michelle. Randy doing the happy dance will definitely draw a big crowd. LOL That is such great news to read that not only has your hubby passed that 4 month mark, but has shown such improvement. Each year on that anniversary date you should continue to invite that Doctor over. Just to show him how wrong he was.
  14. Great news Judy. Congratulations. You certainly deserve it.
  15. Judy are you seeing double after 2 cups of tea ? LOL Too long on the road girl!!!
  16. Watch out for Buffalo Judy. LOL

    Our TracyD

Kasey I also was not aware that Tracy was your niece. Please know that yourself, Fred and the family are in our thought's and prayers.
  18. Just wanted to wish our neighbor's a happy 4th of July !!!!!!!
  19. Hot Chocolate will be so proud !!!!!!!! LOL
  20. I like Blue Jays too Judy. Wanna trade recipe's ??? LOL Just teasing ya. Overcast in the knife this morning. Had alot of rain overnight but is expected to clear before lunch.
  21. Oh Yeah, I can see the sympathy I would get from you two !!!!!! LOL On another note: I asked Dr West about the ultrasound test. He has not heard of an ultrasound test being used to check for recurrence. Now I think I will have to check into it a little more. First I will make sure the nurse at the clinic has it correct in being an ultrasound and not a CT scan.
  22. I had an abdominal CT scan in February Patti. But this is an ultrasound. Great idea Randy. Thanks. But I also do not want to deprive these comedians from honing their skills !! LOL
  23. Yes Judy I liked Heidi's response too. LOL My Oncologist only visits here once every 3 months and it was a few days later when the clinic called with my appointment for the ultrasound. I could probably call the hospital in Edmonton he works at but thought I would ask here first. I can't recall reading here about anyone having an abdominal ultrasound.
  24. My next check up will be in September on my 2 year anniversary since my lobectomy. If everything is fine, my check up's are extended to every 6 months from the current 3 months. Along with the usual chest x-ray, my Oncologist has also scheduled an abdominal ultrasound. On my 1 year anniversary he scheduled an abdominal ct scan. All my test have been NED including the latest on June 10th. I think my Doctor is just being proactive before my check ups are extended. But anytime a different test is ordered you always wonder. Has anyone else had an ultrasound/sonogram to check for recurrence ?
